Weres are trap avoiders while in were form, so I assume those caught by traps were done so after they reverted back to their normal form?

Edit: Also to modify azeroth2b's statement: As far as I understand, the current belief is that the were curse/disease is spread by bites that break the skin (i.e. infects the blood), not by other damages inflicted by the were. I wouldn't rely on that, though, but quarantine everyone hurt by bricking them in separated from each other (weres are building destroyers, so a door won't work). The infected ones will turn at the next full moon, and those that didn't turn are safe.
