In my kitchen menu, it says I have 145 strawberries (the berry, not the plant), and my stocks screen has none. There's a similar thing for grapes, cranberries, purple amaranth leaves, and spinach leaves. These are all aboveground crops. For my underground crops the numbers match. Could it maybe be counting the wild, unharvested plants? By the way this is version 40.24.

Fruit growths show up under "Leaves" not "Plants" in the stocks screen.

Oh yes, there they are. Then why is it such a struggle to get my dwarves to brew my cranberries or strawberries? I keep getting job cancellations and sometimes 'Brew drink from fruit' is red. Saves are compatible from this version to the newest one, right? Maybe it's a bug that was fixed.

Because they're in a barrel and some other dwarf is doing something to that barrel.  Either putting an item in it, or taking an item out of it.  Or maybe moving the whole barrel, but that's somewhat rare.

The whole barrel blocking thing is one important reason I use an MQS (Minecart Quantum Stockpile) for all my brewable and threshable greenery.
