"Fuck!"
"Fuck"
"... Yep"

There's a moment of stunned silence.
"Welp. Bet's a bet. Pay the good ogre, woulda corporal?"
"... Permission to speak, cap?"
"G'head"
"... You're a bastard, cap."
"Goblin law, snotty. Mi Familia es tu Familia.. -s gambling debts."

The corporal mumbles slightly about his overall lack of goblin heritage, but offers, with barely trembling hand, a few coins to Larok.

"This is a week's wages?"
He laughs and pockets it. "A pittance."

"Hah! Yeah. We get paid piss."
He gives a lopsided smile at the cell door.
"... Screw that. I'll fix it tomorrow. Last thing I wanna do is get 'tween you and sleep."

With his leave, the other four guardsmen troop out.

- back to the bar, where Riskiss and Ghaminia note their arrival. (And Riskiss again, their dour mood).

"Good."
With that, Larok sets his things next to the bed, removes his outer clothes, and sets down to sleep.

"You can call me June. Now, I don't think they serve tea here, but I'd still like to get you that drink. I know a nice place; would the two of you care to come?"

She smiles easily at the two of them. She wasn't sure if she wanted to pull a con or not. With that girl...maybe not, and besides. Ruining human's trust in goblins wasn't a profitable long-term plan anyway. She did know a place, though. Fairly nice, too, and there was even a half a chance Hezal would be around. Hopefully she hadn't taken up another misfit of a charge. Hadn't gone well the last few times. She tried not to pry when she could help it, though.

Nabih frowned a little. "Oh no, I am terribly sorry but I cannot accompany you. I have my own interests to take care of here." he replied politely while glancing at the people around. He had made prior contact with one of his acquaintances and set up a meeting with a middleman who he hoped could set him up with good starting manpower for his mercenary company.

While more skilled mercs would certainly charge a hefty sum for their expertise, the trading scion had different plans; after all, he couldn't pay for skilled labor right at the start. No, he was in search of an older mercenary, maybe a bit too old and/or lame to fight but still active enough to be a teacher and instructor. With that secured, he also wanted people used to using their muscles and/or brain. Trackers, hunters, rangers, lumberjacks...

And a third category that interested him were the outcasts, people who were escaping their past for a reason or another. Whether due to exile, penitence or to escape someone, some of them could have useful skills. The only type he wanted to avoid were the obviously dangerous ones; while Nabih could understand the plea of someone who had killed a rival during a duel, he wasn't interested in hiring serial murderers.

[Contacts=3] (2)

A rugged-looking goblin approaches the table. This must be the Recruiter.
"Evening all. I take it you're Nabih? Haman gives his regrets he couldn't make it.
He gives a start. Ah. Aleia. A pleasure. Please tell me you're not getting a cut.

"Hmmmm...so you don't drink anything but tea, yet you won't leave a place like..."

She trailed off as Harbul arrived at the table. "No, I'm afraid I don't know anything about it Harby, though I'd certainly love to find out. Sounds profitable, if you're worried about little old me." She bats her eyelashes coyly at him. "Though that does answer my question nicely. So...what are you two going to be chatting about? I can only assume that your bodyguard will escort me out if I try to stay, after all...so I may as well ask before then."

Harbul gives a snort.
"Not my muscle, beautiful, though she makes for a good warning about spilling beans to gossipy seductresses."
"But-"
he raises a piece of furled parchment.
"If I've done my job right, you may be finding out real soon."
Giving a wink- "Call that one a favor, from me to you."

Riskiss gasps in mock horror. "But that's two I owe you now! However will I pay you back?" She smiles, a real one. Banter was one of her favorite pasttimes. "Would you rather I call you Nabih, or...?"

She files away a note in the back of her mind about the guardsmen.  The Ogre was gone, and they looked annoyed...either things had gone badly, or they'd missed some fun, or someone had done something stupid. Like challenge it to a wrestling match. Either way, guards tended to have big mouths around pretty women and strong drink. Especially when they had something to get off their chest.

Nabih rose an eyebrow. "Al-Safi would likely be better but you may call me Nabih, yes." It felt a little too intimate in his culture but he'd rather not have to bore people with explanation about his people's traditions. "I see you already know each other. Mister Harbul, correct?" he asked, polite as normal but with a slight smile on his lips.

From the background, Ghamina watched. She regularly glanced around the bar, for others taking undue interest and in case the goblin woman tried something.

"Ah, stones. That's pretty rude of me."
"Yes, Harbul's my name. A pleasure."

He offers a handshake.
"I beg you. Please don't call me Harby."

"Excellent. And worry not, I will not. I take it you received my list of requisitions...?" he inquired, leaning forward as he shook Harbul's hand and expecting an answer. The start of their meeting hadn't been the most auspicious, what with the initial strangeness and him being momentarily forgotten.

Nanih also glanced at the goblin woman, expecting her to leave due to simple politesse. He hadn't missed the fact Harbul had called her "Aleia" when she had introduced herself to him as "June".

"To business, then."
Harbul coughs politely, and levels an open "get going" stare at Riskiss.
