Oceanus puts down what he's playing with and sets off towards the noise.

Emmett  anxiously combs his fingers through his hair.
"Can we leave? We should leave. Right now."

Echoing from a steel-framed cell, one-meter-fifty by one-meter-fifty, muffled through the tiny window resonated a delirious, feverish voice.

"I tried.."

"I tried to tell them."

"This was but one."

"And there was an entire city of them"

"but they wouldnt listen to me"

"Damn them. DAMN THEIR EYES!"

"Strange creatures. The death. The DARKNESS!"

"A place of empty souls and fevered thoughts.."

The thumping noise, ever increasing in rhythm and morbidity culminated in a sickening sound, much alike of a watermelon being split with little care. With wet footsteps, the translucent remnant of what once might have been a man tackled the door, only allowing a short glimpse of itself through the tiny window. His forehead had been caved in like the ruins of france after the great war, leaving only hints and landmarks to guess where his eyes and nose might once have been.

"MAY THE RATS EAT YOUR EYES! YOU ARE BLIND TO THEM!"

[SOLDIER First]

Emmett jumps about a foot.
"FUCKING CHRIST!"

Elise began to back away, her eyes fixed on the small window. She was shaking slightly, her body breaking out in a cold sweat.
"We should leave."

[Akroma]

No. We are too close to the secret to turn back now."

Oceanus pauses to try and take a picture of that weird smashed guy.

[Akroma]

With a spark and a pitiful cloud of smoke, the camera takes its last breath. Soulless. Mindless. Entirely inanimate. Yet it takes the only sensible action.

Oceanus shrugs and decides to keep going. This place was pretty cool!

[Kansa]

Elise's gaze was still fixed on the monster,
"I'm not sure if it's worth it."

[Akroma]

The trail lead to a wing of the asylum, particularly damaged by the flames. Leaving only the sturdiest of columns and charred remains wooden structure, the proceedings were only made safe to ones health by the lucky circumstance of the ghost heading into the basement. There, between cracked rock and the lingering lament of souls that remained, it ducked through an opening left by the fire, small enough to allow passage to a crouched man. Even to someone who understood little about architecture, this gate into the unknown suggested whatever was supposed to remain behind it was not meant for the public eye... Morgana beamed with unsettling delight threading upon it.


"The discovery of what may be the greatest remaining gathering of magical knowledge in the world is not worth getting a bit scared about?."

Elise took another step backwards, her hands fiddling together as her eyes began to dart about.
"It's more, whatever that thing is." she made a weak gesture towards where the horrific sounds were coming from.

[Akroma]

It's just the ghost of a madman. Really, ghosts are not that dangerous."
