I've had a lot of fun playing the campaigns of Dawn of War II coop with a friend of mine recently.

We both have it, and have played it, but he doesn't like mods, and I have no interest in vanilla anymore.  I'm not the type to build a giant structures, though once he clear cut most of a mountain, leaving the top intact, and then replaced the sides with glass.  Built a fortress inside the giant shadow.  It was pretty awesome.

Got it, but managing tons of units and trying to orchestrate them properly isn't really fun for either of us.

Steam says I've played this for 69 (I swear I'm not joking) hours, and most of that was co-op.  Good game, but we've pretty much played it to death.

If you like fighting games with a side of RPG-style leveling, I've been having a good amount of fun playing coop in Dragonball Z Xenoverse.

Definitely Helldivers. Don't be scared by the DLC - you do not need it to have fun or to be a good player or for anything. Just grab it, and spread managed democracy across the galaxy
