Adventure Mode Cartoon (NSFW)

I did a search for "Korgoth" and could not find much of anything about it.  Anyway, when I play Adventure Mode this is pretty much how I picture my character (which obviously inspired my forum name).  While it obviously has D&D inspiration, I can't help but think the creators must have played some Dwarf Fortress at some point (or perhaps Toady has watched this).  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yoxMiZxN-F0

Lol that opening theme bit (3:08 to 3:40) is LITERALLY every genocidal adventurer in this and the previous version in a nutshell.

Sweeping off heads with a single blow? Check. Head crushed with a punch? Check. Biting a deer and shaking it around by the throat? Check. Woman revealing herself as a green demon? Check. Drinks too much beer and passes out? Double check.

But this is the kind of thing Heavy Metal Magazine would do all the time, run one-shot graphic stories so over-the-top with barbarity, gratuitous sex and violence that you couldn't tell if it was parody or not, not that it mattered.

I had never made this connection before, but Korgath reminds me of pulp fantasy author Jack Vance, which in turn makes me wish for a mod that tries to emulate his dying earth series. . . perhaps it would be best to wait until magic is implemented.

Korgath disturbed my normal friends, I'm not surprised it wasn't funded at the time of it's release (late 90's iirc). Western animation has taken a real turn towards morbidity and violence recently, not that I'm complaining, and Korgoth feels ahead of it's time. Plus it was made with the old-fashioned animation production process!

When was the pilot made? I could have grown up with this awesomeness if it hadn't failed. :'(

The pilot episode was released on Adult Swim in 2006.

A crime, that. Korgoth is what adventure mode should be to a T. Over-the-top violence, plentiful and ironic companion deaths, overarcing plots and goals laced with intrigue, and batshit insane magic to top it all off. Shame we only have the first two to work with right now.

I don't care if it's been almost 4 years since that pilot aired.I would still throw my money at any kickstarter project that wants to make this a thing.

Because a cartoon about a burly barbarian that does not feel pain,roams a fantasy land full of dangerous creatures and literally kills everything on his path has Dwarf Fortress written all over it.

This also makes me wonder if Toady has secret mind powers and makes animators secretly market his game.
