I oppose Proposal 42.
I support Proposal 41.

I buy 4 plots of land.

Proposal 43 - The Emperor's Veto: Up to once per turn, the Holy Emperor may choose a currently active proposal and Veto it, which has the effect of putting an infinite number of negative votes on that Proposal. The Veto can be undone while that proposal is still active by the Judge saying "I counter-veto the Emperor's veto!" in this thread, and/or by a supermajority(over two thirds) of the players saying "I oppose the Emperor's veto!" in this thread.

The Veto can be undone while that proposal is still active by the Judge saying "I counter-veto the Emperor's veto!" in this thread, and/or by a supermajority(over two thirds) of the players voting in favour of the proposal.

Changed part in red. If a supermajority of the players already supports the proposal, they shouldn't have to specifically oppose the veto.

I haven't decided whether I'm in favour of this proposal or not, though.

Proposal 43b - The Emperor's Veto, Modified Again: Up to once per turn, the Holy Emperor may choose a currently active proposal and Veto it, which has the effect of putting an infinite number of negative votes on that Proposal. The Veto can be undone while that proposal is still active by the Judge saying "I counter-veto the Emperor's veto!" in this thread, and/or by a supermajority (over two-thirds) of the votes for that proposal being in favour of it, with one-third or less against.

We still don't have a way to count only active players—that's what my next proposal will be!—so I changed it to this, for now.

Terribly sorry about this being late.

I couldn't check into the forums since that last turn. Fyi all your proposals were invalid because the last proposal was proposal 41, which I wish I could have told you earlier. However, since it was on me that the rules couldn't be enforced I just renumbered them and made them not invalid in the interest of not invalidating that entire turn. This won't be happening again, I hope.

Proposal 42 - Avoiding Unfair Proposal Loss: Within a turn, a player can have one proposal rendered invalid due to a technicality—currently, this includes incorrect numbering and failure to include a name—without it counting against the number of proposals they can make within a turn. They still have to write a haiku.

Proposer: Elephant Parade

Supporting: Elephant Parade "Lord Uln 'Proposes Uselessness' the eighteenth", FallacyofUrist

Opposing:

Total: Passes 3 to 0

Elephant Parade gains $300 and 1 Holy Imperial Elector Vote.

Proposal 43 - 'Giving meaning to the Emperor': On every forth turn, any player not supported by the holy Emperor loses 1/2 of there cash to the barbarians that now wander around, Any player supported by the holy emperor transfers 50$ every round to the emperor's bank account, But the Emperor loses 1/2 of his/her/it's cash to repel those same barbarians in place of the players he/she/it Supports. the Emperor can only change who he/she/it is supporting once every eight rounds, and can threaten players for more cash. if players wish they can 'donate' to the barbarians, gaining part of the loot stolen from the emperor, but this makes them an enemy of the empire. Players can hire Guards for 100$, These Guards reduce how much the barbarians or the emperor can steal from the player. The emperor can hire swords men for 150$, these allow him to attack the Barbarians or any player that does not have his support.

None of the variants of 44 pass because none of them had supporting votes from 2 separate individuals.

Election of a Holy Emperor: Format is the candidate, followed by the votes they've received, followed by who those votes are from.

There were no votes to elect a Holy Emperor this turn.

The Lottery: This shows the bets of every player that uses it in one place, for much the same reason as I have the proposals in this post.

Proposal 45 - Defining "Active Player" for Future Legislation: An "active player" is a player who has posted within the last three turns and/or the last week. If a proposal includes the phrase "active player", it is using this definition, unless another is supplied within it. For clarity, it is strongly recommended that proposals with an alternate definition use a different phrase—"current player" and "recent player" are both workable, if slightly awkward.

If you have a better definition for "active player", please submit a variant proposal!

Buy six plots and add any remaining money to the bank.

I put 500$ in the bank.
I Put 600 on the lotto.
I Buy 5 pieces of land.
I Support Proposal 45.
Proposal 46 - New Nobility: each time a player gains (10x previous Number) of land they get a title, Starting at 10 with the currently Available title of "Land owner" these titles will be applied to the player replacing the previous title, or modifying a title if they already have it included in there name(s). the titles go in the order of: "Land owner"(10) "Lord OR Lady"(100) "Baron OR Baroness"(1000) "Viscount OR Viscountess"(10000) "Earl OR Count OR Countess"(100000) "Marquess OR Marchioness"(1000000) "Duke OR Duchess"(10000000) "Prince OR Princess"(100000000).

I like Proposal 45 but 'land owner is given at 1 not 10 so...

Proposal 45a - New Nobility Modify: each time a player gains (10x previous Number) of land they get a title, Starting at 1 with the currently Available title of "Land owner" these titles will be applied to the player replacing the previous title, or modifying a title if they already have it included in there name(s). the titles go in the order of: "Land owner"(1) "Lord OR Lady"(10) "Baron OR Baroness"(100) "Viscount OR Viscountess"(1,000) "Earl OR Count OR Countess"(10,000) "Marquess OR Marchioness"(100,000) "Duke OR Duchess"(1,000,000) "Prince OR Princess"(10,000,000).

I changed everything by removing 1 zero on each and added commas to read it easier.

Darn it I put the wrong proposal fixing it now

I like Proposal 46 but 'land owner is given at 1 not 10 so...

Proposal 46a - New Nobility Modify: each time a player gains (10x previous Number) of land they get a title, Starting at 1 with the currently Available title of "Land owner" these titles will be applied to the player replacing the previous title, or modifying a title if they already have it included in there name(s). the titles go in the order of: "Land owner"(1) "Lord OR Lady"(10) "Baron OR Baroness"(100) "Viscount OR Viscountess"(1,000) "Earl OR Count OR Countess"(10,000) "Marquess OR Marchioness"(100,000) "Duke OR Duchess"(1,000,000) "Prince OR Princess"(10,000,000).

If editing wouldn't make proposals invalid and make you have to write a haiku I would have edited.

Support Proposal 45
Oppose all Variants of Proposal 46
Purchase 8 plots of land

And because otherwise no-one will be able to keep up with those who just keep plowing money into more land:

Proposal 47 - The Power Limitation Act:
A Player may only hold 20 plots of land. A player who tries to buy plots of land which would put them over this limit keeps the money and does not accrue more land. Any player owning more than 20 plots of land when this Proposal takes effect loses enough plots of land to bring them down to 20 but is refunded $250 per plot of land lost this way.

Proposal 47a - The Power Limitation Act, Slightly Less Limiting Version:
A Player may only hold 40 plots of land. A player who tries to buy plots of land which would put them over this limit keeps the money and does not accrue more land. Any player owning more than 40 plots of land when this Proposal takes effect loses enough plots of land to bring them down to 40 but is refunded $250 per plot of land lost this way.
