I don't think I have a better system in mind. A prototype system seems to work as long as the check's difficulty scales with the complexity of the tech.

How about this new effect for the stunt then?
Failsafe Process: Nabih can re-roll results in Craft checks that would result in loss of material.

Re:IC - What do you want to know vis-a-vis 'military information'?
As all characters were raised in the states (with the exception of the missing Rpgeek), all information is basically fair game.


Edit: Unless you want information such as which are the largest companies operating, etc etc, in which I will have to actually limit the knowledge just as a time-saving measure.

Technological level of the military, preferred tactics, tactics they're used to fighting against, mobilization speed.

Sure why not. You're basically the first word on that corner of the continent.

As for tech level- I've already fleshed that out plenty.
Preferred tactics- there are no standing armies in the states, technically. Or, there might be one, which is the tower-guard at Aurelar. Everything else is a mercenary company. Sure, they might be a mercenary company who have a perpetual ten-year contract to man the border-fortress between the states and the Goblin kingdoms, but they're still mercs. So preferred tactics will be very different from company to company.
Tactics they're used to fighting against- Ogres are graeko-romans, Vikings are vikings, Goblins are goblins (ambushes and poisoned weapons), Kingdom is all of the best bits of medieval europe, dwarves are enigmatic, but probably involve shot, and/or artillery.
Mobilisation Speed - Random. Whenever a really big threat has happened, it's usually taken quite a while to round up all of the heavy-hitting companies to push back, but because it's fiction, they always have managed to in time.

Interested, just racking my brain (Also playing the witcher). Numbers tend to get in the way of a good story.

I could switch back to resources as a skill, but that's a pretty gigantic shake-up.
Or I could use burning-wheel style cash, funds and resources, but that involves yet another 'quick intro to a snippet from another bastardised system'

For now I'll stick to the D&D system, but if it gets too complicated, it might need revision.

I was, but I really shouldn't have been.

Under the current system, Lieutenants (Able to lead multiple squads) are 30 silver a day.
Companions like the couple you've found so far are limited in the amount you can have, but seemingly common because I like throwing interesting characters at you all.

Some companions will be Lieutenant-level, some will be greater, some will be weaker. It's mostly down to empathy if you want to eye them up.

As for the contract, I was thinking I'd just make contracts pay out half-again their base cost.
Haggling doesn't yet have diminishing returns (Something I should Really get around to figuring out), so you've actually made quite a killing on the ones you've picked up.

Didn't I pick just the one escort mission? Tiat (apparently renamed Teal then Teat according to one of your last posts) got the other. I'm actually worried about the feasibility of sustaining my grand plans if I don't get a bunch of other contracts in the near future.

And just for confirmation's sake, I'm taking that Stunt I mentioned before:
