are the price calculations on office workers correct?  the price for 10 seems off by an order of magnitude.

actually, 10x anything seems to be a total waste.  I now assume this is intentional and the joke is on me!

The calculations should be correct.
Remember that every unit costs more than the last one by a factor of x.

And in the case of office workers the x is ~2.

maybe i'm being dumb, I was just eyeballing it but it seemed like the price for 10 was greater than 10x the price of the 10th individual purchase.

Looks like I was wrong, though.  inspecting closer, this seems to not be the case.  the numbers do indeed seem correct, at least when testing with a cheap object like a fisher.

...

There is something seriously wrong with me, though.  I have this thing plugged into a spreadsheet calculating the most efficient purchases and upgrades.  Currently at UFOs, and affording each new thing takes some significant time.

Fun game.  makes me keenly aware of my disabilities :)

middle of the third day.  unlocked all items, and have abandoned my efficiency matrix.

Started filling out the cheap items to qty 100 to pick up achievements and income bonuses.  Looking like a long wait until the last few items can be bought to qty 100 to complete achievements.  eyeballing how many open achievements are left, and guessing at the number of office workers that might represent the cap.

do i need to complete this?  Maybe I'll give it 72 hours of run total runtime.. finish out day 3 before abandoning.

Thank you sir, for the guilty pleasure.

edit:  making some fairly safe assumptions, I can account for what all but three achievements will be. Two of them might be 50 and 100 pearls, and it is possible the third is either 60 office workers or some sort of "you got all the other achievements" sort of thing.

There are really no meaningful choices left to optimize the wait time, but I guess it does not hurt to leave the tab open...

Oh my :D

IIRC there is a 100 nukes achievements that I thought nobody would ever reach.
Then there is 50 office workers (there is no achievement for 60 or more office workers) achievement.
Aaand there is an achievement for having* 10 pearls at once I think.
Oh and there are achievements for ascending 5 and 10 times :)

Glad you liked the game :D

I managed to get 50 office workers at one point, then was working towards 100 nukes but...... no XD

By the way, when I initially played I didn't know that the amount of fish caught requirement for pearls would reset and that they would become really hard to come by the more you ascended.

What is ascending?  restarting to claim pearls?

Whatever they are, Ascensions must my three unaccounted for achievements then (1, 5, 10?), good to know!

In three more hours I'm going to call it quits as a 72 hour run.  68/76 is probably good enough, I might get one more for 50 UFOs.  Unlikely that I'll get the 100 Submarines (at 80 now), but there is a chance.  I expect 10 nukes is as far as that progress will go...

Oh I played this a few weeks ago. Huh.

There's got to be a more interesting way to do this. There's no risk involved in a lot of these games. Just: Reward. Reward. Reward. It would be neat if there were some more mechanics.

Well, you're essentially playing against yourself, trying to optimize efficiency.

I tried the Swarm Simulator thing.  Thought I did allright, until I read a redit thread and learned that I had played very sub optimaly.

Yeah. Definitely not a bad game, but I must be looking for something else.
