Actually, I will +1 the dart rifle but add an alternate ammunition that is basically a grapple-launcher for scaling forts, ships, cliffs...

Well, let's go for uniforms before we get saddled with a useless design.

Uniform overhaul final proposal and my vote goes here
Nation-wide overhaul of uniform. Infantry gets brand new helmets, boots, optional simple short swords and green uniforms. Cavalry gets  cuirasses, helmets, holsters for pistols, optional lances and blue uniforms. Military horses get barding, new improved saddles, horseshoes and other stuff. Sailors get their own grey uniform suited for their tasks. Marine infantry gets holsters similar to cavalry, boarding axes and black uniform. Priorities are: new comfortable and practical uniforms, then new armor, then additional melee weapons

Yes, I decided to add to the action. Remember that Victoria users have no bayonets and it is a problem.

Couldn't we just issue sabers to our soldiers?

How can our thread be so boring that the G.M. is telling us to argue? Can we weaponise this?

I'm not really satisfied with this, but it's the best available option.

OK, but I would phrase it a different way because the current uniform proposal sounds weak and not worth a full design phase.

Uniform & support equipment overhaul
Nation-wide overhaul of uniform and equipment.
* Infantry gets uniforms and other equipment to increase mobility, allow to march faster, longer and over rougher terrain and provide better concealment (helmets, mountain boots, green uniforms, modern backpacks to carry more while it feels lighter, side bottles with a personal supply of water) and basic campment equipment (small portable rolled beds that allows for a warm sleep even on a rainy day). Each company (not for each soldier) gets a shared supply of axes, machettes, showels to build small wooden/earth encampment/small fortifications/road clearances if needed.
* Cavalry gets more comfortable uniforms and saddles and some basic armour for added protection (helmets, cuirasses) making them superior in melee combat vs enemy cavalry and partially resistant to lower caliber gunfire.
* Officers get comfortable bags for maps, a whistle to give short commands, a small lunette, also a compass is issued. Artillery officers get also small books with tables for ballistic calculations and watches to coordinate fire (to start an artillery barriage at a designated time).
* Sailors & marine infantry get comforable uniforms suited for their tasks and some basic melee weapons to help with abordage.

As for explosives for artillery and higher calibers I say steal it :) We should focus on mobility.

Since we have an agreement for the design, I propose a revision of our stolen brig, maybe with copper bottoming (although I'm afraid that's going to push the cost too high). If the design is good enough, we can sell it to the US.

I prefer to focus on speed and adapting it to 8lbs cannons + coopers + maybe adding marine infantry quarters.

We want a fast transport

Yeah, we'll need it to get our ressources from the US, and our 8 pounders with carcass shots are good.

Quote from: Uniform Overhaul '83 mod.
All Military personnel are issued with fitted uniforms, various ancillary pieces as appropriate (pouches, powder belts, weapon slings, good boots, military-grade horseshoes, etc),  and steel helmets. Each uniform is dyed based on the branch the serviceman is a part of. White for mariners, sky blue for line infantry and cavalry (horseman uniforms are more gilded) and green for skirmisher units. All infantry/mariners are equipped with sabres and horsemen get lances. (1 ore)

You rolled pretty well there, but high command was not willing to let the forces abandon the glorious colours of the monarchy.

Begin Revision Phase
