Also,  we can only have one design per turn.  We can make a better pistol, but we have more important things.

 Its in a new caliber and appears to be a "trigger pull and hope you can control the recoil until it runs dry" thing.

also, lets start discussing focus. one will be blockade surely. The other? I would try an invasion, while we have better rifles. next turn at least one of them will have a matching rifle I feel and in 2 turns our rifle will merely be baseline. That is the nature of espionage.
if we manage to take a foothold now, we can build a fortress next turn and get a permanent land in the mainland to help future military invasions.

Alright, but I'm not wasting time taking a small bit of land. If we pull off an amphibious invasion, we're striking directly at one of their cities.

I believe that would give them a defensive advantage and crash our chances of taking any land whatsoever. Although it would be great if it worked.
we probably should have focused on the rifle if we wanted that. Although some good shore bombardment can go a long way.

We'd have to check with kashyyk about that, if not, we land close to one of the cities and storm it from that point.

Defenders do get a bonus when defending a city due to familiar territory, and also due to minor fortifications (unlike the major defenses from a fortress). The key points is the environment, being very different to a pitched battle, and cities are seized in parts rather than as a whole like fortresses. A contested City does not provide resources to either side.

Amphibious landings also penalise the attacker if there is a defender present on site. (Random stretches of coast are unlikely to have a significant force unless there is good spotting and communications technology).

For the sake of getting the turn to pass faster, I'll second the Pistol.

Yeah, definitely going to vote for landing on a more-or-less random coastal point, then build a fortress. We don't want to face amphibious assault penalties every time we want to attack something - especially not against cities. Do we specify a specific coastal assault point, or just "somewhere on the coast"?
Lastly, how do we decide on our propaganda and on which ship to give to the Americans?

You can do either,  but if you let me choose somewhere random, then don't complain if it's not where you wanted it.
