True. But if we fix the rifling I propose that we spend our production focus on the fleet. Due to the American contract they are likely to design ships and now they can enter service immediately.  I also propose a blockade.
By the way, what do you think our actions should be this turn?  Try invading again?

Nah, I'd say invading needs to wait for our rifle to be finished, and possibly introducing a light cannon to support our marines.

Well, we get two focus slots, and the there's no enemy naval presence at all. So if we defend the ocean, we still have a slot left, which we can't exactly use for anything but invading.

I suppose we could build a fort, but I wouldn't know where.

One of our cities? It'd make storming one of them a lot harder.

I suppose we can fortify one of our cities. Although I hoped we would be fortifying a beachead in the mainland by now.
I wonder if we can try building a logistic hub to facilitate invasions? but maybe that is a bit too abstract.

We could also go for a high-risk strategy: Spend our production credit on the rifle, spend on focus action on landing on the peninsula. The second focus action is to, once the enemy is commited, land additional forces behind them to cut them off.

Don't forget we also have yet another revision action to roll for.

True. What should we use it for? Using it on our rifle (which currently is Very Expensive, i.e. 1/100 people) will possibly reduce the cost by one step, meaning our production action could either absolutely swamp them with the rifle, or be used on our ships. Using it on our cannons could improve the range, and might possibly even make rifling cheaper, reducing cost of our rifle. Any other ideas?

we need cheaper rifling. with that, the mod B becomes cheap and the mod C becomes expensive, meaning a full rifled breecloaded army.

revisioning the rifle is safer, since we are just trying to reduce complexity. It could also improve reliability.
revisioning cannons to be rifled risks getting rifled cannons without reduced complexity, which wouldn't be that useful. However, a success here would help us on both fronts.

I think I would go for revising the rifle directly, I want a good, working, rifle. but I wouldn't oppose rifled cannons, if it came to that.

Revise the hell out of the damn rifle. If we're going to do it, we're going to do it for good, since we're pretty safe on our island, and even if we somehow fail hard enough for them to get a beachhead we will have something to drive them out with while we starve them off with navy we upgrade later.

Formal proposal:

Revise the rifling and percussion caps to be cheaper.

No. I suppose there are similarities, but I'm fairly certain angry birds doesn't let me charge into a battalion of knights with a car made of circular saws.

+1
Let's throw bad money after more bad money! (Also, if rifling and percussion caps end up being no longer complex, we'll be able to build a pretty nice artillery piece next turn)

pretty nice doesn't even begin to describe the artillery we would get.

Although I am a bit worried about our design being stolen.

anyway.
revise the rifle! priority on rifling ( cheaper and working better with bullets since we had some slight problems with it) , then percussion caps.

although I doubt we will be able to do much with percussion caps... aren't those way ahead of time? we need some good chemistry. But worth trying.

Not that far ahead of time. The relevant chemistry will be invented in 1800.

I'm pretty much 100% sure that both our enemies are going to attempt to steal our gun this turn.
