We get that resource next turn, IIRC. Also, ore seems superior in every aspect.
Agreed. Well, on every ship which uses a large number of cannons as well as ironclad ships.

+1 to Ore

But I'd actually rather say we focus production on our rifles, and land again this turn. We have a tremendous advantage on land, and next turn, with a ship production focus and fortifications for our landing site, we should be able to easily take back sea superiority --- especially since, last turn, they had to spend a production action on their steam ships and still were rather easily trounced.

I'd want to wait until our rifles are completely and utterly better before invading. Besides, we'd need to actually have the area secure before we can fortify it.

They already are. They are completely, utterly, better than anything the enemy is fielding.

I agree. Even with our best version only being able to be given to 1 out of 10 soldiers, EVERYONE will have a rifle of some description. We invade!

No. I suppose there are similarities, but I'm fairly certain angry birds doesn't let me charge into a battalion of knights with a car made of circular saws.

Everywhere.
As British, we proably have more men than anyone in the world except maybe if you counted all the Russia peasants in Siberia or something.

probably because the empire doesn't really care.
if we plan for a land invasion, I think we need to use the production on the rifle. Having our whole army using the mod C would have a tremendous effect.

I have a rather crazy idea: Rush production on our brigs! If we can get a flotilla going, we can definitely do a two-pronged landing.

Here's what I'm thinking: We make another push at the peninsula, and when we have their attention, we use our ample transports to land a second force behind them and trap them between to armies. That should give us victory rather easily on the assault. If we rush brigs, we might even get away with being able to use one focus action for this!

The Codex Astrates supports this action. On the other hand, Codex Astrates is also stupid at times, but that's why you have firing squad ready if the unfortunate general plan doesn't work out well.

I am not sure we have the raw manpower and firepower to pull it off, but much depends on the situation at hand. I would love to exploit our rifle the most while it is still the best tchnology around. from next turn, there will be competitors.

On the other hand, wouldn't it be better to assault Atterton? Their army far less impressive.

We're going to be at a disadvantage anyway, due to having to make a landing. It might be best to pick the easiest target.

Assaulting Dunwich means we can prevent them from getting too powerful.

As for where we attack if we invade? Go straight for their westernmost city. If we manage to land the urban terrain will negate most, if not all, of their advantages due to the close quarters.

That being said, I'll still stick to building more london-class ships, those marines will need fire support. That, and we're in the production phase at the moment, not the focus phase :P

Where we'll focus will likely dictate what we produce, so don't dismiss it. I'm sticking to more Dovers.
