Allrighty then. That will still be two die to roll... Both on a single vehicle, correct?
When using 2x 1d, each vehicle will be either a 3/4t truck (1/3 chance), a HMMWV (1/2 chance) or a 2.5t truck (1/6 chance).

With using 2d, we will have a single vehicle which is going to be a 3/4t truck (1/36 chance), a HMMWV (1/4), a 2.5t truck (11/36), a 5t truck (5/36), a 5t tanker truck (4/36), an LAV-25 (3/36), an M113 (2/36) or a HEMTT (1/36).

Basically, using the former will leave us with nice light mobility. The latter will leave us, depending on the rolls, with either the same as the former, a significant heavier truck (most likely with very poor offroad performance), a combat vehicle or --- worst of all --- a tanker truck we can fit almost nothing on. So yeah, voting for 2x1d for vehicle choice.

Im also going to give each vehicle a (slim) chance of not being American, to represent Funk's char bringing a vehicle, for instance.

So, here's my generated sheet. I'm not sure whether I did everything correctly - this must be the worst RPG book layout I've ever seen.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)
I'll still have to specify the 8 military contacts (1 foreign) and get basic equipment plus buy more equipment.

Edit: Included basic equipment. Fixed war term (double skills but no secondary)

I find it best to have two copies open, one to where they have the story-embed process and one to the list thing on page 52(atleast, 52 in the PDF).

Also, we need name, gender, nationality, and you saying what jobs you did...

Which kinda amazes me...

The latter was in the original post, and I didn't copy it after fixing the War term... You'll find the whole stuff here:
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
I'll add name and other info after I've finished the backstory.

Also, do you want to roll the vehicles now? That'll give us a head start planning for equipment.

Edit: Two more questions:
1. Is there any way to fire on a specific body part?
2. Where do we - roughly - start geographically?

Technically, there was a one-in-ten chance of keeping that last bit of agility...

For vehicles, I am going to roll them up shortly. As for your questions:

1. I am almost certain there is, and that it makes for a harder roll. I will look it up though shortly.
2. Near Lodz. Final locale will be after I look up the calling shots.

-edit-

Does not look like it and south of Turek, east of Kaliz and west of Lodz. Vehicle rolls are... 5 and 3, giving a pair of HMMWVs or their equivalents, which wind up as... (rolling a D5 for each here, with it being German, Russian, American, American, American...) Russian and German... Huh.

Well, the Russians get some form of UAZ, German one I am looking for now.

-edit two-

Now i know that we get have some free stuff from the army but there's no army any more.
We're on our own, there's no more supply drops, we carry every thing we need.
And one of those is a big gun.
So in light of our vehicle's I've came up with a few options for towed heavy weapons.
The Vasilek will take both vehicle's to pull it.
To buy anything but the DShK will need to club together.

You can probably mount the DShK and the AGS-17 on either vehicle. I know you can mount the AGS on them, the DShK may be iffy, Ill go check.

If it can be mounted on a vehicle, and a vehicle has a mount, it can be done.

And in other news, I am having a absolutely horrific time finding topographic maps of Poland that arent from 1880-1956 and that dont want pots of cash. The closest thing I can find is a hexbased thing that was made for Twilight 2000 but only really shows roads, settlements, waterways and forests.

So we have about 2.7t available weight.

We have several questions we can decide on right now, and which'll influence the equipment we'll carry.
a) Light or Heavy?
Light will mean we mostly pack our personal weapons, two MGs per vehicle and maybe a light mortar or so. This leaves us with the maximum amount of space for other stuff. Heavy means we pack heavier weapons. For examples, see Funk's post.

b) Common Ammo?
If we decide to do this, we'll only want a few, common, ammo types. These'll probably be .50 calibre, and either 7.62mmN or 5.56mmN.

c) Long-Term Plan - Area
As I see it, we can either remain in the general area, or move to the west. (We could also move to the east, but we just ran from there). The west would probably offer us better climate, but also more risk from established fiefdoms. Remaining here should put us in relatively unclaimed territory, but we risk the advancing armies.

d) Long-Term Plan - Strategy
We can either try to make it to the US, try to link up with existing fiefdoms, remain hidden or try to link up with a village - offer work and protection for food and a home base.

For me, I'd prefer light equipment, common ammo, don't care about the third and linking up with the locals.

By the way, looking at our vehicles, we need 108l diesel fuel (that's 378l if we're using methanol, which I recommend) per period travelled. Uhm, or they don't, since we can't modify them. If they were, however, one person could produce about 100kg of greenery for ethanol per 4hr period. A small still would produce about 5l/day, a medium one 35l/day. If we take the medium still, we could move one period every eleven days, with one person-period spent on gathering per day. On the other hand, a medium still is 2 tons! A small still (0.7t) would allow us to move for one period every 75 days.

Aseaheru:
1) I just noticed: Neither of the vehicles we have can actually use alcohol as fuel, and they're therefore going to be pretty useless.
2) During writing my backstory, I noticed I couldn't really get into the character but had several ideas for a British scout. Since I can't take my career path as a brit, I'll redo the sheet as closely as possible.

Trailer are 1K for a ton of space.
We should buy at least 1 just for all the things we'll need.

Both vehicles  can use Diesel or Alcohol.

So trailers just add to available load? Then we should definitely buy two.

I'd like to curse out whoever wrote that rulebook. You're correct.

So, a few things we should probably get:
- Ammo, Explosives, Grenades etc
- Still
- Generator. Even a small one is sufficient to charge all of our batteries, and can easily do so for five days per two-day period of rest (for the small still to work).
- Freezer?
- Field Cooker
- Tools: Basic hand tools, wheeled vehicle tools, excavating tools, construction tools, small arms tools, (heavy ordnance tools), electrical repair tools, electronic repair tools, lockpick tools
- Radios; we definitely want one 13km vehicle set per vehicle. Either $1500 or $6000 (secure)
- Vision: Everyone should get binoculars and IR goggles.
- Medical Supplies. If anything's left over, get more medical supplies. They're probably worth more than gold. Include surgical instruments and a medical kit.
- Jerrycans. Jerrycans transform the 1t cargo trailer into a 940l tank trailer, for about a thousand dollars. That's very nice.
- MGs for the vehicles
- I want an electronically-powered recon drone; a Pointer (see http://pmulcahy.100megs3.com/uavs/us_uavs.html). Or two. Or three.
- At least some food. In summer and fall, we should be able to live from the lands (with four hours per person per day spent foraging), but not so in winter or spring.

I've got most of the basic tools and an MGs for a vehicle.
And yes that is all most a ton of ammo.
I still can't find food in the manual, so i'll just grenade fish until some one finds the right page.

Aseaheru can i have one of the PK machine guns as my free personal weapon?

Might I suggest one of the 7.62mmN MGs available? (Not to you directly, but we can buy some from the group budget). The ammunition is available for you to buy at character generation, and it'd mean we can all use the same ammunition. They're all basically identical, with the difference that both the MGs and ammo is apparently slightly cheaper.

And yes that is all most a ton of ammo.
I think you don't have enough ammo :P

I'll give you a hint: In the Equipment chapter, there's a section "personal gear". It's not in there.
In the Travel and Time chapter, there's a section on food and foraging. It's not in there.
The only entry I've found is in the price list, page 252 under "Other Equipment".
Domestic $4/kg, MRE $8/kg, Wild $2/kg.
Did someone say horrible layout?
