You postpone feeding yourself for a brief time to capitalize on the fact that you have a scorching bit of metal at hand. As it is lying over a patch of dirt, rather than leaves, it hasn't set anything on fire. So, you gather some leaves (because you still dare not move it with your own hands) and put them over it, hopefully they will catch fire. Unfortunately, what you grabbed were some muddied leaves that, instead of catching fire, served instead to absorb the heat and dissipate it. You make a mental note to not to look for dry leaves near the spot where you looked for clay in the pond.
With that failure in mind, you tear off a stick from a tree, fairly nondescript as far as sticks go, and venture into the forest. Along the way, you notice several things that the rush for water at the start of the day didn't allow you to think about. First, that the forest is mainly composed of different trees, none of them exceedingly tall, with some of them bearing some kinds of hard nuts, or at least that is you can see from the ground. Second, that shrubs are abundant, but only in the areas that are less thick and allow the light to get to the ground. You haven't seen berries yet, but they could be possibility. Third, you have stumbled upon a hairy and small animal, barely bigger than the size of your fist that is searching for something on the ground. Your sub-par sneaking skills quickly make you noticed by the beast, but, oddly, it doesn’t run away. Instead, it seems almost curious about you, staring at you from afar with big eyes and sniffing with its tiny, pink muzzle.
The Sun is starting to shine less, but it remains at the same place at the sky.
