I also somewhat agree with some of the critiques, but imo they aren't that important, i'm refering to the exact texture and color of materials, or a more realistic form of objects so that they look like "people" could wield them. What i'm trying to say is that for me the style is more important then how "realistic" it is (doesn't mean they have to rule eachother out though, as in its perfectly possible to retain the style but also to use more correct material textures and colors and such, like Ghostpaw mentioned). Anyways, thanks for showing us your art work Moogie.</STRONG>

I'd have to disagree.  While I'm am not asking for a realistic rendition of the objects using the materials given, I am asking that the look and feel of said materials to be able to relate to the drawing created.  As of now that throne does not have, in anyway, the same feel of the materials used to create the throne.

in Moogie's defense (not that one is really needed), glossy surfaces like obsidian or polished gems can be really horribly hard to render artistically.

My head would spin and spew vomit all over the walls if I had to depict a throne made of shiny black glass.

Shigósbal, "Packtones", a Chalk toy boat

This is a Chalk toy boat.  All craftsdwarfship is of the highest quality.  It is decorated with Birch and turtle shell and encircled with bands of green glass.  This object is adorned with hanging rings of Chalk and menaces with spikes of Zinc.
On the item is an image of dawrves in green glass.  The dwarves are laboring.
On the item is an image of a large, serrated Billon disc in turtle shell.

I thought this one might be fun.

That legendary serrated disc lives up to 'legendary'.  It is referenced on four out of the seven legendary artifacts created since.

On an odd note, dude didn't get legendary stonecrafter out of this, he got legendary engraver.  That's fine, since he'll make a fine hammerdwarf once he gets his knocks as a wrestler.

Isulral, "Faithsilver"

This is an Obsidian Dwarven Fortress. It encircled with walls of steel-backed obsidian and menaces with spikes of steel. It is encircled with moat of water, and has an image of angel wings in Drawbridge.
On the object is an image of a dwarf and a cat in Obsidian. The dwarf is striking down the cat.
On the object is an image of a dwarf in Aluminium. The dwarf is raising a Fortress.
On the object is an image of a caravan and a ballasta in gold. The ballasta is striking down the caravan.

Not quite an artifact, but hopefully amusing and inspiring enough to be worth a draw?

Nice capturing of the feel of the game. Keep it up!

Wouldn't mind having some of these in upcoming versions.

**Moogie has been taken by a strange mood!**
**Moogie withdraws from society**

"I need Photoshop!"
"I need Wacom Tablet!"
"I need Jaffa Cakes!"

**Moogie has begun a mysterious construction!**

I think you only make one Artifact Image per lifetime, so it should be good, now.

Then again, I dunno. You're right, we need to stock some shell. And gemstones, both cut and noncut, large and regular.
Oh, and some metal. Preferably platinum, aluminum, or adamantine.
And wood. Call me crazy, but I'd prefer stout Oak to Tower-Cap for an artifact construction. Or Feather Tree. Glumspire, maybe...
Some sort of plastic, too, you never know. Maybe aerospace carbon-fibre composite, that's the high-quality stuff.
Glass, definately; crystal only.
Hmmm, maybe light-bulbs. The LED ones are nice, but for an artifact, I'd suggest a High-Intensity Discharge Xenon bulb...

Hmmm...

Indeed.  I'm mostly over the whole thing, but halfway down this page is where I totally fly off the handle on the topic:
