Star Wars explicitly takes place in a different galaxy. We won't be finding the God Emperor here.

We could find someone who could pose as him, somehow. Someone really strong in The Force or something and mad enough to belive us.
Remind me, when exactly Luuke Skywalker will be cloned?

Thousands of Nurgle's blessings shall wash over you and you will truly know love.
Luke Skywalker is a supporter of the rebellion and the republic, which are generally about, you know, self-determination and personal achievements. You know, anarchy, or, in other words, Chaos heresy. Luke Skywalker will not be cloned. Luke Skywalker will be purged...

Still a traitor force user, and thus should be blammed at closest opportunity.

Except he was loyal and also a damn clone, which, if we add in our future experience (hopefully) with dealing with mad clones will turn them into perfect tool for spreading Emperor's light into other galaxies, because, well, I guess we will realize that something wrong is going on sooner or later.

Well, shouldn't our goal to take this Galaxy over to create a second Empire that can come to the help of the first as soon as we find our way back?

Nice double post. :V

But yeah, once we figure out what's going on, that does sound like a good goal. Of course, this universe's assets will get curbstomped by a lot of stuff in 40k, but hey, whatever, a galaxy full of war materiel couldn't but be useful.

I dunno, I'd say that the navy here would vastly outperform the imperial navy from 40k. If only because the officers are more competant and the ships aren't full of unmentionable things in the hull.

Then again, setting up a second empire is HERESY. There is only the imperium, and this one, even in it's current form, is no exception. We are a servant of the emperor, not his regent.

True. Navally, they'd have problems. On the other hand, in ground combat, and in trying to use fightercraft in orbit, they'd get slaughtered. Also, other species than humanity, likely to be their main enemies to begin with, would still win out in orbit.

Not particulary, especially given the presence of the interdictor class. Hell, given the relative simplicity of TIE fighters and some variants I can see the empire's navy as a force to be reckoned with. Sure, they might not survive a hit from a macrocannon or a lance but given that your average ISD is the size of a 40K escort which packs a pretty large fighter compliment would almost certainly see it being very effective.

Ground combat I'm a little divided on, what with some blaster rifles able to have their output adjusted to pierce starship hulls. Pretty sure power armour is not nearly that tough.

On the other hand, the projectiles are painfully slow, and the 40k guns are hilariously powerful. Even a basic lasgun is basically a hitscan battle rifle with nigh-unlimited ammunition, let alone actual, effective weapons.

Depends on the blaster in question. The DC-19 sure as hell didn't have slow shots (Though just about every weapon in RC avoided the painfully show shots seen in the movies.)

The main advantage they have is FTL that doesn't do really damn funny shit to ships, like dissapearing them, screwing with time and generally speaking being dangerous to users. As for the firepower and durability I guess WH40k Imperium wins, most of the time. The under-ftl speed is also proably higher in the SW designs, but on the other hand they're also much smaller usually. Also, Imperium of The Man seems to have much bigger fleet, but it seems to be also more spread-out, mainly due to the FTL problem. If we could manage to get that FTL tech into Wh40k and convice Mechanicus that it's not FUCKING HERESY, we would pretty much win the never-ending war for the Imperium.
As for the ground - the lasguns are proably at the similar power as the common blaster (also, hotshots exist and stuff) but - as unbeliveable as it sounds - the WH40k flak armour seems to be better than most things they came up in Star Wars on mass scale, since they apparently can protect the user from stray lasgun shoots or even bolter rounds (!!!, I remember reading about that somewhere). The vehicles vary on quality but I would say that still, Wh40k usually wins and even if not - they have much more of them.

Then again, setting up a second empire is HERESY. There is only the imperium, and this one, even in it's current form, is no exception. We are a servant of the emperor, not his regent.
I don't see why those two things collide. After all, we will be serving the Emperor and Imperium because we're clearly the only person around who can do that, since, you know, we're the only ones who actually know who The Big E is.
