Actually, tomorrow is my last sign language lesson for a few weeks, so I'll have evenings free during the week for a bit. So I should be able to manage them all within a reasonable time frame. I actually didn't manage any over the weekend thanks to forgetting that I needed to finish all my student evaluations, but I'm looking forward to starting Consortium soon!

...I'd love to see videos of sign language training. I've been studying this (due to aiming to be a SPED teacher someday :3) but WOW is it amazing. :D

Update! I have played the first game, Consortium, and the video is in process. I expect to have it up tomorrow. But man oh man, I thought you guys were being nice - I didn't realize you were taking your revenge by torturing me! :P That game is a sensory overload nightmare that seems specifically engineered to torture autistic people. I'm glad I played it a bit, since now I know I will never be able to play it properly and I can delete it from my hard drive with a clear conscience. ;)

I'll probably do Goat Simulator next, because that one is fun, easy, and familiar, so there won't be any stress to making the video. Any requests on what I should focus on? I have the main game, MMO simulator, and GoatZ, but not the new PayDay DLC.

Here is the first video! I hope you all enjoy me being tortured and accept it as suitable recompense for your own suffering during this giveaway. ;)

I made a post about this game in the Peeves thread but holy hell, it gets so much worse. I'm not photosensitive at all, no sensory problems or anything, but during the actual combat segment I got to the entire ship is shaking with the lights flashing while the screen statics out and three people are yelling plot-important information at you. They're not messing with you personally, they just flat-out hate their customers and don't want them to know what's going on.

There's a murder mystery and you're supposed to talk to the whole crew... who are referred to ONLY by their rank. Go talk to Pawn 14 about pawn 37 and pawn 4 because they may have information about pawn 12 but he doesn't like you. Oh, there's a full sheet of the characters, with their real names... so you have names no one uses that you're supposed to match to... their numbers...

And then the game itself gets mad at you for not taking a few hours to go play the developers' little alternate reality game. Seriously, in-game it tells you to stop playing and go play one of their other games. If you say no, you get punished. Fortunately, there's a 150-page .pdf file you can read to catch up, because nothing says quality like a game manual of fanfiction.

TL;DR - You are correct, the game is shit.

For what it's worth, you might want to avoid Amnesia as well. There's a whole lot of pointless lighting "MOODY AND SPOOPY" events in every room, and it messes with your controls and camera a lot. Infuriating in the same way this is.

And then, they will be weaponized. Like everything in this game, from kittens to babies, everything is a potential device of murder.
So if baseless speculation is all we have, we might as well treat it like fact.

oh Consortium. You're like the story writing in a Kojima game but less adorable and infinitely more up your own arse.

Anyway, I hope your next game won't be as unpleasant an experience as Consortium was.

Aw fish. :-[
I did not know my vote would lead that way! D: But on the other hand, hurrah freedom!

...Wow, those lights and sounds .-. Sappho, you are quite the soldier to be going through all that. Alone. With commentary.
That video has great listening value though. I love that introduction--it summarizes this whole thread very well! (And our reactions altogether). The good thing is that the Consortium Main Menu music works as good background music for your intro :P

The great thing to know is the horrors you've suffered do not exist in your next 3 games! (Seriously; 30 minutes video'd and commented on = a ton more than a reward for some of us to see. I appreciate all that effort stuck in between one's busy schedule.)

Full support on good subtitles in games >_> Dear goodness for those who miss *that one line* because the words are all mashed up--and dear goodness tripled for the inclusiveness of good subtitles. :'( Love that one note you made there for those of us who are hard of hearing and otherwise. Along with the flashing and shaking--usually these just disorient for...a second or two for people? It's usually needless other than to represent a shift of momentum or character disorientation (but dear goodness, that's a badly made B.U.S. if it keeps getting its signal messed up like that every few seconds. <_<)

Garish lighting. Not a thing of the future! :V Just a ton more light energy being released. While I don't (think I) have any issues with sensitivity, I can clearly see the...ugh-ness of many features just in the video you made. That training room is extremely garish ._.; The UI/HUD is disorienting when many flashy-things and otherwise is happening to you at the same time (which explains perhaps missing some vital instructions...which easily flopped away as if assuming you read them. On a tiny part of the screen to the side. @_@
The last I'd think is 'fine' when I describe that. :P

I'm personally sorry Sappho ._. I didn't know you'd have to go through this! (And I feel nauseated after watching the video! Guh!)

Spoiler: As an aside? (click to show/hide)

Tiruin, as always, you are a paragon of empathy and kindness. Your nice responses make the 30 minutes of bad gameplay well worth it. :) I hope to get the Goat Simulator video done today and up by Thursday. If I can find the time I will even make it a bit longer to explore the various fun parts of it.

I believe everyone here is pretty much on that level of being a paragon :D I just type a lot!

And hooray! Another video \o/

Wish we had fast net here to upload videos too. x_X Take your time Sappho! 30 minutes is a long time in pre-upload sessions.

I'm a GOAT, bitches!

Warning: Something about this game makes me swear like a 13-year-old boy trying to impress his friends when the teachers aren't listening. So be prepared for lots of potty mouth.

At long last, the last of the promised videos are all ready for your viewing pleasure. I regret to inform you all that I did not enjoy Undertale - it'd just not for me, I guess. Sir, You Are Being Hunted was more fun, but too involved for me to get far into - and I had issues because it is very sound-dependent and there are no subtitles whatsoever.

Undertale
Madam, You Are Being Hunted

Thanks again to everyone who participated in this little circus. If there is interest, we can try doing it again next year - possibly with more people inflicting contributing their bundle fluff. ;)

Oooo, just started viewing the videos and I like it :D Sorry to hear that Undertale wasn't that enjoyable for ya Sappho .-.

Will finish viewing later in the week. Bad internets + residual sickness ebbing away = instability at the moment.

Wheee! Finally finished watching the Undertale one ^ ^

As someone who lacks time to do most stuffs [relatable in that despite it being SATURDAY today, I feel like today is my only day of rest and it's back to school/work tomorrow! @_@ ...And then I checked the calendar to see Sunday], I can relate with patterns of attack and 'whaaaaa whyyyyy but I {did that/did not do that?/moved!}' x_X

Some very good tips to remember is that the pattern doesn't matter--how the pattern is like is what matters. There are patterns of attack that rely on your position and are linear in their movements [Greater Dog's Bark, as a prominent example, only aims to your position--if you keep moving in between the lapses of its barking [top right to top left/vice versa], you won't get hit :3], AND/OR there's a pattern of 'following' which is regular or repeated in every attack*

I'll repeat the asterisk after one bit I think you missed (which I also did until I went all grumpy, like "Hmph, I won't move. Hit me :I Hmmph :'( But then it didn't hit me despite colliding into me). That thing we both missed was when the attacks turn this color or for better visibility: A light-ish shade of this color.

White attacks always do damage upon colliding with your
These colored attacks only do damage upon colliding with a moving object. That means if you stay still and that colored portion touches you--you won't get hurt!

Will try to view the next one later on, but cheers for your Undertale game :3 Don't give up on it ma'am! It's a spectacular game (and something I derived insight in playing from, after getting frustrated, then learning frustration won't help >_<). Mindset matters! \o/
I learned I was frustrated because I learned how to demean myself :/ Putting myself in a neutral mindset, much like how I was back in my childhood, helped my learning 500+%. "I don't know how to do this...ok self, what am I missing..."
Edit: All that info was because my childhood was spent playing puzzle games. @.@

EditII: Woo, finally finished the last one! :D
...I couldn't hear anything from the voice acting and decided to think of it as the person's own mumbling (though I'm partly sure it's a narrator voice because the player character is female and it's a pretty deep and classical tone).
Fully with you on subtitles -_-

Thanks for running and hosting the videos in such a short time Sappho :D
