Synonymy

A concept that is somewhat interesting, even despite it's simplicity. Your objective is to link two given words via a chain of synonyms.

The execution is however rather deficient. First of all, it's clear that the game is but a cheap and rushed port from a mobile design. The interface, while probably decent on a small screen from a mobile or tablet, is huge on PC (Fitting the grand total of 5 words on the screen). The tutorial helpfully tells you to swipe left and right, something less easily accomplished with a mouse and keyboard.

The mass of screen real estate it wastes, and the fact that you can neither see where you come from, or where you're going, makes this a silly game. Most of the time I found myself guessing, hoping that what I thought was a synonym also was a synonym in their database.

The store page promises narration by Richard Dawking, which I have been unable to find. Perhaps that refers to the narration in the trailer on the store page, which I found more enjoyable than the actual game.

Edit: I'm having technical issues with the second game. No sound, the menu works, but it locks up afterwards.

Stabby, I'm afraid you only get one vote as you didn't win one of the prizes. I'll put your vote on the first game on that list: Sir, You Are Being Hunted. If you want a different one, you have a few hours to change your mind before I get started.

Well, I'm not likely to have more than 30 minutes to play at once anyway. I'm truly a busy person. It's the age-old paradox - when I had all the time in the world to play games, I had no money to buy them. Now I have a massive library full of games to play and no time because I'm too busy earning the money to buy them.

Being an adult is a pain!

I'm also going to have to spend part of this weekend editing more Minecraft wtih Mom videos, since the raws are taking up most of my hard drive (and I don't have space to record more videos now). I've agreed with my mom to edit them down more so they're not so boring, showing just the highlights, mostly, like I used to. But it takes forever to do that, so we'll see how long that takes me...
