Reviewing a bad game sounds like a blast.

It is!  You get to nit-pick every single flaw as much as you'd like.  The worst games to review are the merely average ones.

This sounds awesome - I'd love the chance to review an awful game. I already own The Stanley Parable, Endless Space, Transistor, and Teleglitch, so count me out of those.

And for the pledge: I, GentlemanRaptor, do solemnly swear to, no matter what, play at least five minutes of the game I am given and to deliver an accurate review, regardless of how awfully soul-numbing and mind-breaking the game may be. So help me Armok.

Last call for entries - I'll count whatever signups happen until I wake up tomorrow "morning". Then I'm closing it and starting to organize the prizes.

Eep .-. Bad internet connection.

This post is my intention to sign-up; I have 0 of all the games listed on the OP, and I shall savor the gameplay of whatever is given to me (and give it a balanced and constructive review!).

E: Just noticed, I have a few one. :-X

I know its a little early but if i dont get stronghold 3, i would be willing to trade for it. It was one of my favorite series back in the day and i heard bad things about stronghold 3 and held off. I want to see what they did to it firsthand.

Ah yes, the insatiable lust of corn and rice, clearly two of the most erotic foods.

If I get it, no problem. I'm gonna pester whoever wins the van helsing game to trade it to me as well.

And then, they will be weaponized. Like everything in this game, from kittens to babies, everything is a potential device of murder.
So if baseless speculation is all we have, we might as well treat it like fact.

Entries are officially CLOSED! Today I, the only person in Prague without a hangover, will sort out the list and assign all the games. I plan to first randomly assign each game that many people already own (like Teleglitch, etc.) to make sure they find a home, then I'll randomize what's left of both lists and go through until they're all taken.

I will post the results, then give you 24 hours to haggle and make any trades you want to make. All agreed-upon trades must be declared here in the thread so I can make sure everyone gets the right keys.

Now, to work!

THE LIST IS READY!

I did most of this on paper, so you'll have to trust that I did it randomly and fairly. It was... complicated, to make sure everyone got something they can actually play. There are also two "mystery keys" - keys to games that I'm not sure if they'll work or not because they're so old and the games they're connected with are no longer available on Steam.

And the "winners" are...

Tiruin - The Blue Flamingo, Boxeswithguns
MetalSlimeHunt - Ship Simulator Extremes, Grimoire: Manastorm
penguinofhonor - Teleglitch: Die More Edition, Mushroom Men: Truffle Trouble
stabbymcstabstab - Kick-Ass 2, Stariron Tactics
RickRollYou2 - Endless Space Emperor Edition, Moto Racer Collection
a1s - The Stanley Parable, Virus Jigglin' Fever
BFEL - Transistor, Airship Dragoon
Darkmere - Sengoku, Evopullution
MonkeyHead - Shattered Haven, Naninights
Ukrainian Ranger - Seven Kingdoms 2 HD, Monomino
JimboM12 - Primal Fears, The Body Changer
GentlemanRaptor - Discovery: A Seek and Find Adventure, Air Guardians
ventuswings - Superfrog HD, The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing II
choppy - GAUGE, Stronghold 3 Gold
bQt31 - Ruzh Delta Z, Legends of Aethereus
sjm9876 - Castle, Shiny the Firefly
TheDarkStar - Volt, Mr Makeshifter
10ebbor10 - Voyage: Journey to the Moon, Synonymy
Krevsin - Tidalis, Frederic - Resurrection of Music
Persus13 - Ninja Guy, Commando Jack
woosholay - Skyward Collapse, AERENA
RedKing - Uncrowded, Mystery Key #1
highzealot - Freedom Planet, Mystery Key #2

YOU NOW HAVE 24 HOURS TO ARGUE, COMPLAIN, APPEAL, OR MAKE TRADES WITH EACH OTHER. Please keep trade discussions in PMs. All agreed-upon trades must be posted here in the thread. You'll get your keys / Steam gifts tomorrow!

Re: Sappho's “Happy” New Year Blowout Giveaway - "WINNERS" ANNOUNCED!

Well this'll be fun.
Actually saw a fraction of a LP of Airship Dragoon, which painted it as the aforementioned shitpantsingly terrawful.
So er, that might've been something to note before it was given to me, but I actually didn't really look at what the stuff on the list was beyond things I already had, because wanted to go in blind.

So if Sappho thinks that is a bad thing I suppose I'll trade it to someone, but barring that I feel pretty good about what I got.
One in a genre I like that may or may not be completely horrible, and one that looks like it might actually be worth having.

I suppose we'll see if that initial assessment stands.

It appears Grimoire isn't total shit, and I think I actually may have seen an hour of it once, or at least a similar game. Regardless, it seems a bit too good, so I'm willing to take offers for it.

Most of the games are awful. That's why you had to pledge to actually play and review whatever you got. ;) You could only be exempt from games you already own. Anyway, what fun would it be if everyone got games they actually *wanted*? :P
