Anyone see a lot of abandoned elf retreats in adventure mode?

On my map, two thirds of an elf civilization's settlements are completely empty.

You can still create an elf adventurer there, and then wonder where is everybody.

Took several days to find another sentient being. After talking to them, the most plausible cause of it is all the megabeasts in the area (titans, griffins, dragons and a minotaur) that may have been preying on them, as indicated by the villager commenting on how such and such killed her uncles and nephews.

I found a total of three people in a major city: two tavern keepers and a trader. Everyone else is gone.

But the capital and another major city were full, it just took a while to get to them.

Having the same problem. Was playing a fortress and switched to adventurer.

Was going to root out my vampire mayor when i realized that he was killed by "the forgotten fern" faction of elves in a siege.

While I don't like vampires, he was my mayor to kill. Now im trying to track down the elf queen that authorized this attack.

Most of the areas they came from are completely empty. I can't find a single elf in any of their cities.

I must locate this elf queen and exact justice.
