Umm... I did the math for the Felkusha.

With developer x2, I have triple population gain. So it would be ((1.5x3) x Pop), then Pop x 0.25 for old age losses.

If I had a population of 1,000 then population would increase by 4,500. Population would then be 5,500.
Then to calculate losses of old age it would be 5,500 x 0.25. So 1375 would die due to old age...

So 375 newborns would die of old age on the turn they are born!

... Is this correct?

the math I did got
1000 * (1.5 * 3) - (1000 / 4) which got me 4250... Why do I Feel we are doing this different ways?

I went by your exact wording.

You said that population increases by ((1.5 X Modifiers) X Pop)
((1.5 X 3) X 1000) Is 4500.
Because population increases by 4,500 then it would be 4,500 + 1,000 for the 5,500.

You then said "then you lose (0.25 - Modifiers) of the pop to old age."

Since population is now 5,500 my calculation went 0.25 x 5500 to come to a loss of 1375

Which would be 5500 - 1375 = 4125.

The formula in your latest post has two key differences.

The first difference is instead of "Population increases by ((1.5x3) x pop)" it should be "Population becomes ((1.5x3) x pop)"

The second difference is instead of "Then you lose ((0.25 - modifiers) x pop) of the population" It should be "Then you lose ((0.25 - modifiers) x Old pop)" to factor in the fact that newborns don't generally die due to old age.

I did more math. I think that Developer needs to be nerfed. As the player who benefits the most from it being overpowered, you should really believe me when I say it.

Look at my spreadsheet and do the math yourself. You will see a problem. I feel obligated to point this out for the sake of the future of the game.

I don't think that is how it should be changed. See this new chart.

The problem is how old age works. It severely stunts players without developer, but barely affects players that have it at all.

The way it is set up now is No developer gets +(0.25 X population), Dev 1 gets +(1 X population) and Dev 2 gets +(1.75 X population)

I propose the following formula.

Players with no developer get (POP*(1.5*1))-(POP*0.25)
Players with Developer 1 get (POP*(1.5*((1/6)+1)))-(POP*0.25)
Players with Developer 2 get (POP*(1.5*((1/3)+1)))-(POP*0.25)

This will make it so that players with developer 1 will actually get twice the net population growth as players without it, and players with developer 2 will get three times the net population growth. This is how I initially thought the population growth was going to work. This also gives you a number for the actual death by old age so you can factor it in for necromancy or whatever. Observe the chart with these formulas.

Hmm, We could increase the death rate  by adding on .25 per rank of it, or I could Nerf it down to adding .5 each rank... See any better ways of doing this?

Changing the death rate doesn't work because that only affects the old population and not the thousands of new ones. You may have missed my post directly before your most recent one. What do you think of that?
