Apparently nothing was hit. Calvin would here a buzz and feel a sting as Adam has morphed into a small bee

Well, Adam would have at least tried to sting him.

He fails, of course. Something as small and, more importantly, weak as that could not hope to pierce Calvin's skin, after all.

Still, old habits die hard, and Calvin's hand immediately goes to squash the bug, wherever it has landed.

The dog/wolf/canine/thing is grabbed by a pair of powerful hands, courtesy of Calvin, and lifted up above Calvin's head, before being smashed into Calvin's knee, back first.
