Aine's head bounces off of some invisible barrier above the gate. It looks like that option is closed as well.

Not even Annie's maximum strength is enough to force the gates to open. She isn't the first student with prodigious strength who had the idea to escape after all, and so plenty of enchantments have been placed to stop those kinds of attempts. Though even if she did manage to bend the bars, the porters on the other side would stop the group from leaving anyways. They clap politely as Annie tries her best to escape and then wait to see who will be next to try. When your job is to sit and patiently wait for someone to need your services, you would welcome any form of entertainment as well.

"I don't know much about stargazing, but there's some good-sized clearings out in the woods. The grounds of the Academy are massive and rundown. If you have a weekend to spare I'm sure you could find something eventually. It'll be quite a hike though."

Magnus moves towards the lake. when he arrives he will continue to its bottom and look for a way off the grounds

"I honestly dont know. The grounds are massive and I haven't had time to explore most of it. You hear rumours here and there though. Abandoned cabins haunted by spirits. Shrines and mazes built by the Native Americans who used to live here. Strange buildings built by no mortal hands. Monsters lurking in the shadows to drag off students for their meals. That sort of uncreative stuff." Sens rolls her eyes at the lack of imaginations of her fellow students, and then continues.

"I wouldn't go exploring by yourself though. You might get completely loss and starve to death after all. Apparently it's happened before. But if you have a guide or GPS it should be alright."

Laura continues her existence.

The lake doesn't go anywhere near the fence marking the edge of the school's grounds. Nor does it have any convenient pipes to crawl through and to freedom. How terrible.
