I've seen it in 42.01 but I don't really think anyone understands why at this point.  Haven't seen it in my 42.03 fort as of yet.

Can you melt it down and make crazy weapons out of it?

Melt down the elves at the same time for soul enchantments.

What? It doesn't work that way? Soul enchanment isn't a thing? Well... Melt the elves anyway.

Im thinking that the elves force must have the same domain as one of the demon kings. Im investigating the legends now, it seems this elf civ has been very aggresive.

So normally where the elves force they worship would be for this civ, in the historical figures is missing. Because they all dubiously worship another elf civs force. Im think both civs must be very close to each other.

Also there is a demon with trees as a focus, ironically a fire breathing rhinoceros, twisted into humanoid form. Her spire is call thiefwood or something.

So far havnt seen any weapons or armor, just instruments. Also looks like they have multiple materials.

I have heard kobolds will sometimes steal from vaults and their sites can then get invaded. I'm not saying it was kobolds, but it's certainly a possibility.

I did not investigate the vaults, or the kobold sites.

Here's a thought: Elves can't normally use metals, but some of the generated instruments they are given require metal components. When dwarven civs have no access to natural metals they are forced to use alloys, but elves can't use these either. Could it be that without access to any normal metals, the game defaults to using the generated divine metals? Do elves bring instruments/components made from mundane metal or are they only divine metal?

Isn't divine cloth just a divine metal that has been woven into thread like adamantine?  For all the time I've put into DF I have no experience with divine stuff.

I have no idea where divine cloth comes from.  I've only seen elves trading it.  I regret not robbing the elves.

I think you should rob them and melt it, if possible. Then stab them with the weapons. They'll die from irony before the blood loss gets them.
