Great, and we're still on this train of thought. Okay, easiest way is to just never bring it up IC. If they don't care much for it, they aren't going to mention it, now are they? I still don't see why if the whole point is that they have an innate compulsion that distorts their world view, why it has to be something that edges so close to the forum guidelines. As opposed, I dunno, politics, capitalism, environmentalism, etc.

I mean, if it's the effects, not the actual thoughtform itself that's the focus, it shouldn't really matter much if that repressed angst is basically a semi-coherent rant against the republican party or the implementation of Obamacare.

Keep them as a demon, and with it comes an innate drive to usurp the verisimilitude of order there is in this world. Scream about the hypocrisy of their so-called morality, crush their faith, and rend apart their beliefs one by one. A burning, raging negativity that seeks to drive them into, if not, transgression and conflict, then snarkiness.

They don't have to. Because if the players don't give their characters complex ideologies, then it shouldn't be too hard to attack them. Which doesn't even have to happen, seeing as the character is suppressing their urges. I mean, it isn't like I'm saying they should just start screaming about the Gaza Strip and start elbow dropping everyone who disagrees

Look, I know you like to be wordy and stuff but what the are you actually saying?

Basically? You could just give them urges that don't break forum guidelines, but which still relate to something that is socially acceptable and which still reflect their demonic nature.

Granted, they'd be a different type of demon, but you could be far less restrained when talking about it.
