Yeah, but it's usually user-error in the case of magic. You don't really have that many settings where say, the main form of magic randomly blue-screens of death, and can be attacked by malmagic embedded in a spell it automatically uses without requiring caster input. Or where your supersoldier construct gets shipped in with faulty vision enchantments.

Wouldn't it be even more common in a world were magic is less proliferated though? I mean, in real-life, all this occurs even with quality control, formal accreditation, university courses, documentation, etc. In a world where that isn't the case for magic, wouldn't flaws be even more common?

Hint: It's often "what can I do to make this bug stop making the program explode" as opposed to "where's the flaw in the program", especially when it's a big system that does everything and you simply don't have time for a rewrite.

Whereas the hobbyist programmers actually do have time to track down all, or most of, the bugs before releasing.

Fuck no, of course not! Issue is, hobbyist programmers still do release with flaws, and there's more to technology than just programming and computer science. Plus also, hobbyists still have support from things such as language documentation, IDEs and whatnot. Which in a fantasy setting where magic is less prevalent, wouldn't be there. Also, I'd imagine that mages aren't just hobbyists.
