I'd say no still. Seriously, you cannot have technology so advanced it resembles magic, you know why? Because technology fucks up. Someone has to design the tech, someone has to design what actually makes the tech, someone has to finance it. And all of them, several months into the inevitably over-time, over-budget project would rather be elsewhere, and start cutting corners. Tech fucks up, magic doesn't.

You want to make a virgin sacrifice under an eclipse to summon some horrid sealed evil through magic? Go ahead. If it were tech, there'd be a pretty good chance you'd instead spend the night ringing tech support and asking why it isn't working.

And while magic is arbitrary, technology tends to have more evident flaws. Yeah, needing to spill blood's a hassle and all, but at lest your lightbulb doesn't haven an IP address, along with a cryptographic key hardcoded into its firmware that can then be analyzed to figure out your WiFi password because some people actually think that the Internet of Things is a good idea.
