I think that the issue is how the Janitor is just... there. Always. I mean, Mira would have an excuse if these altercations ever happened while I was on- psychic- but what about him?

He likes to think he does important stuff, I guess. By stealing Aglasis' job without any mention whatsoever that he's showed up, and expects people to know who he's talking to at all times. And sometimes literally warps back and forth between conversations like it's nothing.
