The weather this morning is freaking awful to be out in, but goddamn if it isn't beautiful outside.
So vibrant and green, so watery and dramatic... bitterly cold and crisp, with one's breath puffing out like exhaust from a steam locomotive...

Holy shit, this sunset (at the end of a rainy Winter day with more rain threatening to break out at any time) ismmaking everything look insanely beautiful. Oh, now it is raining again, lightly.

I'm glad I'm wearing a warm, waterproof jacket, otherwise my enthusiasm for this weather might be considerably... dampened.

If it isn't, someone will breezily dismiss it, there may be a storm of complaints and then it'll all eventually blow over.

I could always resurrect the "ITS RAINING SIDEWAYS" thread for 2017...
EDIT: Done.

It raining!
Kicked up all of a sudden a little while ago without warning, looked almost cyclonic out there for a while. Then it started pouring steadily with rain, and after a little break it is now back again.

Exhilarating. Did a couple of little runs out to the mailbox and back, getting nice and wet. It occurs to be that this pleasant rain will seem rather less entertaining if it is still going when I plan on heading out later... oh well, I'll live.
It's only a nice summery storm. :)

Although I should probably pick up a new ventolin inhaler to replace the one I lost last night, just in case this weird "thunderstorm asthma" phenomenon decides to kick in...

Ahh, a whistiling wind, a projected high of 1-2C, and soaking wet ground.

Perfect weather for a nice cuppa peppermint tea and a fire, if ya ask me.

EDIT: North-Central Kentucky, if you were wondering; it had been raining off and on since 4 or 5 this afternoon.

Does anybody want an ice-cream? I've just walked past an ice-cream van, touting for business on the street.

(The only reason there is no snow on the ground, from a couple of days ago, is that the rain has washed it all away. But it's only slightly precipitous (and currently not at all precipitatious) because it's only about a week before the sun starts coming back, after all!)

Travelling round the UK this week, it seems I've (through advanced planning, but not to this end) been able to totally avoid the snow everyone's been talking about. There's apparently some 15 miles from where I am now, but nought but a heavy frost here last night.

I lucked out and had a business trip all week in Phoenix.  My wife is not happy she was at home with the kids all week with no school in the subzero temps :(

Still had barely any snow myself (some came down on Thursday night, where I was, but had largely gone before I set out the next morning) but apparently it's caused UK-style 'traffic chaos', even though we have snow-tyres.
