Oh.  Well, in that case, Dar's going to stay hidden, and watch them start to work.  I want to say he won't attack if they're not doing anything invasive... but he doesn't really believe that's a possibility, so he's going to start buffing, drawing the rage of fire into himself.  He'll attack once they seem distracted by their work--standard anti-twoleg tactics, go for the neck, rip and tear, leap to the next, repeat.  Use a blur gem charge, too.

Search for the omega doctor ask him:
"Mind telling me what particularly happened to me? I remember fighting some rabscallions, getting winds, having some weird bubbly stuff surround me and then light being brough into it and chains, chains everywhere. Comforting yet confusing and haunting as chains of ephemeral nature should be."

"Reply: Honestly, this one cannot remember much from that briefing. But merely the fact that there was one puts it ahead of this mission's briefing.

Complaint: Now, This one does want to point out the fact again that it had to disable one of its teammates with extreme prejudice, as to not lose the entire mission goal. Then there was the part near the end where it had to do the preperations for the teleport spell by itself until the captain came along. Honestly, this one feels as if it went through more trouble than it should have to ensure the mission goal was met.

Query: Perhaps this effort deserves a special upgrade? This one has the Clockwork Dust upgrade that is honestly...well...gathering dust so the speak, so that could easily be replaced with something more useful. If nothing else, this one's chassis can still carry more gear, this one thinks.

Satisfied Query: This one feels better now that its complaint buffers have been emptied. This one stands ready to take on a small individual task, if you need something done between missions."

Complain. Try to bargain the complaint into perhaps a special specialization or powerful gear. Also inquire if they have a small-ish, individual mission for me.

Pas'qet peruses Omega base, in search of someone who looks like they might know a thing or two about demons and the like. If he finds such a person, he sidles up to, and leans casually against, the nearest convenient vertical surface, crossing his arms and defocusing his bulbous, dead eyes in the vague direction of separate points off in the distance. Without turning his head to face and/or gore the individual, he coolly hums out the side of his beak,

"Hoooo, there, strangler. You wouldn't not'n happens'know where a cleverin' hook mites findsemselve a walrock's service, now wouldn't we not now?"

(If, for some reason, no walrock can be found, Pas'qet instead locates the closest thing they have to a kitchen in this backwards place, hoping to try the local cuisine.)

Fly around happily in dreamland.
doot doot doot. You see various very large, flightless birds, humming and beeping. Neato.

(5)(6)(2) You leap and slash, sending one of the beings reeling backward, to fall back against hte cavern wall, before leaping onto the next: a jumble of plantlike amterial. You slash, tearing chunks of organic matter from the being, and getting entangled in it's mass. A hand reaches in and grasps your neck, pulling you free.

"what in the eleventh hell are you doing, cat?"

Of course I am! Sane enough to talk, unlike those stupid peasants! They were trying to eat me, the fools! They got what they deserved for daring to hurt a king.
And I am not "Dinner", I am Rex Bracchium the First, the Octopus King! My kingdom is everything under the water!
Now tell me, where am I? Why I am on this crate?

Who is this guy? How does he talk? Is he a leader or an important figure? Or maybe just another servant?
If he leaves, try to break the crate to get out.

Well, you can't see him through the crate, so you have no idea if he is a master, servant, or rogue scoundrel here to kill, steal, and destroy.
"Hoo boy. a delusional misfit, eh? Well then, what is it you would like to do, yer royal high-pain in the ass-ness? Wanna work the kithcen and show these worthless cretins how it's done? Or, you looking for more fools to fight? BEcause we have a place for that, too, you know. Just, not in my kitchen. Hear?"

"Hmm. you look to be undead, lad. Were you undead before?"

Me points go into Strength and General Knowledge, bringing those both up to 0.

”Man, the reception on this thing sucks. Let’s see if...”

Try finding something going on inside the base.
There's an octopus waging war against the kitchen, there's an undead talking to a doctor, a cat fighting some doctors, some shady dealings going down along one edge of the base, and ... there are several groups of what appear to be veterans doing something to several of the links to elsewhere. Ooh! there's a gambling hall, and a fight ring. Looks like kickboxing just ended, and Irish fisticuffs is beginning! You also note several acts of eroticism in various places. I'll say no more about those, though.

You can change out your specialization if you like, or add some gear. I'm fine with either. As for missions, you can a) escort a person of interest back to Omega base, b)place seven portal sigils at specific locations, or c) slay a monster.

(5) you ask a guy with, like, the prettiest, vomit green, radioactively glowing eyes about warlocks, and he smiles that hideously delightful grin of death that warms your cockles or whatever you have in place of cockles. Looks like you've come to the right place.

Set one of the birds on fire to cause the others to scatter.  Then pick out a slow one to dive on and kill.

Check to see if he has any chains coming from him, if he does see if I can pluck it.

I would certainly be interested in hearing about escorting this person of interest.

Also, for my reward, I'm going to try to be cheeky here and request a few things. Namely:
- Replace clockwork dust specialization with "Clockwork staff combat". Basically specialize with magically attacking with my staff (the beam and shockwave functions), since I've done that quite a bit lately.
- Ask for a sack/bag of various magical totems. The one time use ones I basically use as ammo for my staff. Whatever they have lying around, really.
- Ask if the gnomes can upgrade one or both of my hands to channel either the power from a totem or the raw magical power of my internal battery for extra powerful munches/tearing/strangling. I don't often use my hands but it's come up a few times, mostly for rp.

Dar hisses, making the metallic fur on the back of his neck stand up straight, while he channels a spell to make the fur more thorn-like.  Then he thrashes around, trying to drive the thorns into his captor until they drop him, at which point he'll go for their legs before continuing his more lethal attacks.  The plant person won't be attacked for now, Dar will just avoid it--he's mostly only concerned with killing the twolegged (demi)humans.

Once back on base, work up the courage to ask the captain (or, if he's nowhere to be found, some other seemingly trustworthy authority figure - if I can find such a thing) if it would be possible for me to embark upon a training course of some kind.

Surely the legion has dedicated instructors or grizzled veterans at a loose end, ready to help me become, y'know, more of an asset on-mission as well as providing an IC justification for whatever I decide to spend my level-up on?

((Forgot to mention: I most likely won't be able to post all that frequently for some time, so an offscreen training montage would be nice to keep Thrips occupied for a while.))

Set one of the birds on fire to cause the others to scatter.  Then pick out a slow one to dive on and kill.
(6) you set them all on fire. Now you have giant, angry penguins, marching in rank and file, coming for you.

Hmmmm. I do like killing fools and jesters. What is this place you speak of?
Also I am not delusional! If you let those peasants stay anywhere near me I will break their necks!

Listen to his offer.
"ah, looks like another one for team murderhobo. The arena is just what it says: an arena for fights. You go in, do battle with whatever comes out, and reap the rewards. Different fights have different rules and different risks and rewards. Not that anyone really cares. It's mostly bloodthirsty action. the true reward is in the battle itself."

"No. I was alive, and not undead."
Check to see if he has any chains coming from him, if he does see if I can pluck it.
(3) He does seem to have a chain." You have no idea how to grab hold of it though.

I would certainly be interested in hearing about escorting this person of interest.

Also, for my reward, I'm going to try to be cheeky here and request a few things. Namely:

man, you get rid of the best stuff. Go ahead, take staff combat. And you get a sack of RANDOM TOTEMLIKE ITEMS. Oh, that will be fun to draw from. as for channeling power into your hands ... just tell me you are doing so. Not from totems though, straight from your battery. Totems are for external use - a way to connect your magic with the external world. Using one to affect yourself would only hinder the flow, really.

"There's an expert on runic portals in Strashfern. Name of Enning Dask. We require his expertise. He is to be treated as a guest, and not as a hostile, a prisoner, or an Omega. The University is whee you will find him."
You are given two portal stones: one for yourself, and one for the target.

(4) v (4) Your fur tightens and sharpens, and you feel it pierce the guy's hand, which in response tightens on the nape of your neck. (will roll: 3) Though it is a soothing feeling, you fight through it and lash out in that wild way that captured cats do (2) v (4) and strike mostly air, though you do claw up the Captain's arm a bit more.
"That bloody hurts, you little imbecile!" (4) v (3) The captain gets a grip on you with his other hand as well, though it doesn't really hinder your thrashing. He does have time to stomp angrily out of the cavern with you. "Settle down, or you're going in the box!" He seems angry.

Once back on base, work up the courage to ask the captain (or, if he's nowhere to be found, some other seemingly trustworthy authority figure - if I can find such a thing) if it would be possible for me to embark upon a training course of some kind.

((Forgot to mention: I most likely won't be able to post all that frequently for some time, so an offscreen training montage would be nice to keep Thrips occupied for a while.))
Well, I mean, you traveled to Omega literally right beside the captain, and have since stood right next to him for several turns while medicos were summoned to heal theDragon. He's now in combat with an angry metalcat for some reason, so you think it best not to disturb him just yet. (2) You go to the front office, where reports are usually done, and stand outside, peering in. The receptionist never notices you.

I'll research new gasses, I'll try to make a flammable one. I mean that shouldn't be hard right?
(6) You set your room on fire, burning off your eyebrows and singing your hair as you flee the room. "Hey! what do you think this is? Gnome Country? Take that alchemy and find someplace else to burn down!"

A fight hall? Excellent! Head over there and see what the gist of the deal is.
You head over to the arena and witness a rather typical fistfight between a couple heavies. Another fight involves pixies, wild dogs, and some kind of tree stump. Hard to say who won that one. As for rewards, looks like your typical black market underground kind of thing. You might get a piece of the winnings if you win. First fight, probably not, unless you offer collateral.
