Of course, Twin is neither man nor woman but an unholy eldritch abomination like every other Bay12er. The difference is they hide it better.

((That's quite convenient.  I was gonna ask about Durnvale after I got the enchantment.  I don't think Dar's actually asked any omega leadership about Durnvale--just a few PCs--but I'm certainly not complaining.))

First, what species is the mage that gave Dar'yajira the map?  Human, elf, dwarf, or similar?  Or something more exotic?  In any case, he says the following to her:

"Dar'yajira is very thankful!  Cat did not realize others wished to assist it.  Yes, very thankful."  With that, he begins examining the map in detail.  It doesn't take him long to realize his first problem, and ask for a solution.  "How can one this reach Durnvale?  It doubts it can survive desert.  Can cat use magic circles, as it did for wedding mission?  Or ask for collar which protects from desert, instead of blurring form?"

Dar'yajira asks the above questions of the mage.  Also, what's the rough distance of the nearer Durnvales to Omega Base?

I was hoping it'd be a pretty amazing single potion of speed rather than three regular ones. Can I get a potion of being ethereal instead, or is the deal done and over with?

Also, how much would a pouch of crushed glass be, just out of curiosity?

She is elvish. She smiles dow nat you, close mouthed, with nose twitching. "The distance is too long to travel by foot, dear cat. We have interests in that area, however, and can work out a mission to the region that will allow you to scout and ask questions. It is not always immediately apparent, but Omega cares for it's own."the map does not locate Omega base in relation to the five possible Durnvales.

I was hoping it'd be a pretty amazing single potion of speed rather than three regular ones. Can I get a potion of being ethereal instead, or is the deal done and over with?

The guy  holds up one of the vials and peers at it thoughtfully. "How amazing are you talking here? Do you want to be able to outrace the sun? To dash between the raindrops? what feat of speed are you hoping to be able to accomplish with this potion?"

a pouch of crushed glass would cost 1) pouch and 1) glass mug. So about 2 gold. Glass is a little expensive. Shale, on the other hand ...

What is the rating of the grappling hook?
"you could hang an elephant off it."

Dar'yajira nods to the elf woman.  "This one understands.  It will watch for mission near Durnvale."

With that, Dar leaves the building.  He wanders for a little while, perhaps studying the map some more, until he sights the Eye.  And then syv stops writing bolded words, as you don't like bolded RP.  :P

"Eye!  Dar'yajira has not seen it in some time!  Is Eye well?"

((Tempdeaths should really cost random amounts of random stats/skills.  That's why we're using a five point per level system, after all.  If you can only lose five points at a time, we should really be using a one point per level system.))

@report, their kidding around would greatly help me relax, and i'd become less precise and formal, but have an easier time explaining details and complex situations.

@ portrait, I'd be VERY closely looking at the background figure, wondering if he has something to do with who my father is.

@mount training, I'd want to try Giant Frost Cat form as well, if my rider/trainer is up for it. I'd expect them to need to modify the saddle to allow it to stay secure in more than one form though. I'd like to know more about my rider if possible. Am I going to serve as his escort for a time? I assume he outranks me.

@Oz - job is military, theyre doing a big training thingie and want us to be cut off from the outside world for it to test how we handle isolation amoungst other things.

"Something of that nature, yes! Actually, what exactly would these lesser ones do?"

What, you mean I can't have a speed potion that causes time dilation? How silly!

Also, does 40 copper get me a pouch?

depends on the death. I believe yours was, yes.

@report, their kidding around would greatly help me relax, and i'd become less precise and formal, but have an easier time explaining details and complex situations.

@Oz - job is military, theyre doing a big training thingie and want us to be cut off from the outside world for it to test how we handle isolation amoungst other things.

The officers seem appreciative of your report, and, as they are filing out of the room, one of them tells you "Don't worry about the Frost Giant bit too much. It was tragic, but not everything is under your control. Sometimes these things happen." He nods at you and then you are left alone with your thoughts. (feel free to pm me stuff related to your experience with officers and reports and stuff - I might be able to use it for better flavor for some of the others.)

You look at the figure in the background, or the hint of a figure, for a long time, but you catch yourself staring instead at your own figure - the set of the jaw, the tilt of the head, the edges of the eyebrows. Something about it feels exotic. A little wild, changeable in a way that your elven family is not.

Gimme a day or two to set up a training partner for you. Are you asking to be sent on a mission as a riding mount for the time you are afk? an unwritten mission that we sort of sum up when Aylia returns (and you come out of isolation)?

"Something of that nature, yes! Actually, what exactly would these lesser ones do?"

What, you mean I can't have a speed potion that causes time dilation? How silly!

Also, does 40 copper get me a pouch?

"Well, these potions are fairly remarkable in their own right. They are called Lightfoot's Dance. you would be able to catch arrows, outrun a bird on the wing, and leap across reasonably large rivers wit the momentum you build up. It comes at a cost. All that energy comes from somewhere, after all. But, for a brief time, you could take on a dozen assailants with ease. Just make sure you finish them before the potion runs it's course, mhmm hmm hmm." he pauses and eyes you thoughtfully.

"if you want something stronger, it will be very risky. You will most likely suffer some severe damage as a result of one. But I can make you able to run across the water like it was dry ground, for a time. I'll need your saliva, your sweat, and your blood. A vial of each."

a pouch would be one silver. Especially if you want it sturdy enough to handle crushed glass or jazzed rock. Are you planning on using it as a sap, or to dump the glass as a trap for the unshod? Because caltrops wold work for the second, and be cheaper, and a sap would work for the first, and be cheaper.

With nothing in particular to settle and still thinking about what to put in the last pages of the spellbook- She hadn't expected the Bind Wounds scroll to be so effective, so she was glad she had another- Ebony wanders around the base. Which spells to put in...

"Oh, sweet. As for that potion, I will gather those, sure. Can I have the vials for now? And maybe a swab? I don't really have a vial of sweat in me for the time being, but I'm sure I can manage it eventually."

Is the gathering of bodily fluids going to be immediate or can I do it on my own time?

First things first, ask him what makes swamp water different from regular old water.

Then use robutt computing to find the nearest spot where I could get said water. Or get/make it, one way or another.

If the location seems safe enough, start transferring the water to the cell.

@riding mission: yes, though i have some time before I have to go. It'll be a couple days into august before I'm gone.

Did I get a replacement for my bow that was left behind when I was injured?

other than that, am waiting to get to learn about my training partner.
