@Maegli (+2,+1,+1)
@The Moonlit Shadow (+1,+1,+1)
@Twinwolf (+1,+1,+1), also one too many negative levels in skills.
@AbstractTraitorHero (+1,+1,+1,+1. Twice.)
Please note that in this system, it's inefficient to start with multiple +1s,
unless you have only +2 total. When leveling up after chargen, you get five points per mission, and levelup like this:
- five points to go from 0 to 1 (5 invested, total)
- ten points to go from 1 to 2 (15 invested, total)
- fifteen points to go from 2 to 3 (30 invested, total)
- twenty points to go from 3 to 4. (50 invested, total)
However, during chargen, (+1,+1,+1) costs the same number of negative levels as (+2,+1), which means the former character is hurting themselves slightly in the long term--It takes four missions for him to get to (+2,+2,+1), but the second guy only takes three.
Not that it's an invalid choice, if you require your character to start with the extra skill. I'm just making you aware.
...Aaalso, for anybody who doesn't play ER, you might want to look at
this link for an explanation of how the roll system works. A -2 does not translate into possible rolls of (1,1,1,2,3,4)--it just affects how "failure" and "success" are interpreted. In this case, a 1 instakills you regardless of the circumstances, and only a 5 has any degree of success. Similarly, a +4 does not translate into constant overshots; it's essentially constant autosuccess in anything but the most extreme circumstances.
@Ozark
"Why would this one wish to transform? Dar'yajira already has the perfect form, no?"
My intention is for Dar'yajira to be a frontline combatant, essentially acting as a dodgetank. All his magic would be close range stuff, which doesn't outwardly affect his form--no morphing into a giant tiger, but rending with the
strength of a giant tiger is fine, as would be moving with excessive, supernatural agility. If druidic magic can do that in this setting, that's what I'll take, but otherwise I want generic sorcerer magic.
Also, if one were to heal somebody with magic, would that be a magic roll, or a medicine roll? If the former, medicine is pretty much a useless stat, even moreso than intelligence.
Alsoalso, I'm swapping a -1 from Str to Int.
