"Isn't there normally matinece ladders to go under the bridge?"

"If the top of the bridge is this difficult to walk on, the bottom will be a nightmare, especially if we all have full loads. Besides, they usually go side-to-side, right? I'm not a bridge expert. We could check, but I wouldn't wana set foot on one if we could avoid it any other way."

"They aren't that tough. I can shoot rotters, I can't say the same thing about gravity. Anyway, you should probably look for the intact maintenance bridge that is long enough to take us over and sturdy enough to hold us without dropping. Not much point in arguing now if that thing doesn't exist in the first place."

"Besides, the chances of them all being communists are close to nil. Atleast one is probably only a socialist, going on about things like "public schools", "public fire departments" and "libraries you dont have to pay to get into"."

"That said, avoiding fights would be better than being in one."

"I'd prefer to avoid a fight, far as possible."

Chuck watches the "woman" rotter with the radiophone, then nods toward her.

"Could try using my radio to distract them through her radiophone, see what happens."

"True, but anyone already listening to that frequency is hearing a rotter hitting the radiophone. We don't have to say anything, just make some noises."

"That could work, but we should just try to avoid attracting attention to ourselves. I think it would be a good idea to just keep our heads down, and go quietly.

"That's what I'm saying. Distract them so we can get by them without all the shouting and screaming and fighting and bleeding."

"That little radio isn't going to be enough of a distraction to get eleven guys by the easy way. And besides, we could just set them on fire. Nice and easy, no screaming or shouting or bleeding, and we hardly ever get a chance to use gasoline in such large quantities. Really wasting an opportunity to set a bunch of them on fire here. I guess we could send one person across with your distraction, but I doubt someone on the other side could attract enough of their attention to get the rest of us over."

"Where are we going to get enough gasoline? Cars about here all looked stripped of anything useful, I'm willing to bet there's not much gas in them. Even if there is, how are we going to get a big enough pool of it near them to burn them all without getting noticed?"

"The owners had to leave on foot, taking anything that would be useful for moving around. I don't think anyone decided that ripping out all the gas tanks would be an especially bright move. What would you have done in their position? 'Oh, I am abandoning my car on this bridge. I'd better siphon off all the gasoline just in case I need it later.' Even if all the cars are near-dry, there are dozens here, a drop from each and we would have a decent amount. If we needed to, we could take the coolant to supplement it. Probably won't set off by itself, but with enough gasoline we should be able to reach its flash point. Anyway, we are having an absurdly long conversation right here. This is a good enough distance, they are easy enough to attract wherever we want. We can pool it up here and light it when they get close."

Luke sighs, seeing nobody else is doing it, and walks over to the side of the bridge. There, he looks for any maintenance ladders that would be useful.

Luke makes his way to the side of the bridge, near a rusty ladder leading to a maintenance walkway underside...without any risky exploration, he can see the underside of the bridge is in fairly poor shape-it might not collapse under your weight right away, but damage has begun to accumulate-there are gaps in the metal that would require a jump, and jutting spars everywhere-the whole thing is slowly falling into the ocean, one bolt at a time. And while you could survive a fall from the bridge, the current underneath seems very strong...

Traveling under the bridge will no doubt test your reflexes and dexterity, and be a great deal slower than traveling on the road surface-you would have to make your way through slowly and carefully.

((OOC: It may be obvious, but I need any actions in bold, otherwise I do not know what you are thinking/rping and actually doing.))
