"H-hey, don't just tell them about that!" Adao grumbles, pouting ferociously even as he weighs the mace in his hand. Obviously he's not interested in revealing those details, so her continued accusations make his cheeks burn even redder with embarrassment. It probably wouldn't be as bad if it wasn't true.
"Mrgghhh... b-but.. eternity... damsel in distress... ah, fuck it, fine. But I'd still save her even if she was a computer." If he knew how. At least he knows one thing that Eva is confused about. It's enough to briefly get smug over! "Well, obviously our captors are equipping us to fight their battles for them. Wait, isn't that something that's only supposed to happen in impoverished countries? Ai yai yai, I guess we ARE the slave labor..."
Eva tries to hide her amusement at Adao's embarrassment. Usually she is the one being embarrassed by him after all, and so she makes certain to enjoy the feeling as much as possible. It is a very good feeling, she will admit.
"Forcing people to fight? So... Isn't that pretty much conscription? Like we have back home? You do remember that you'll have to enlist in less than a year, right?" She certainly wouldn't put it past him to forget such an important detail after all.
"Is this situation really all that different? Besides not remembering about enlisting, I guess...""Jesus' mother Mary... Am I the only one who remember signing up for this?"
"I guess so? What do you remember about this? Everything between now and... going to bed last night is pretty much a blur. I don't remember a thing about signing up."He gives her a tortured sigh. Honestly, not sure if he comes from one of those or not himself.
Eva is pretty sure that she comes from one of those herself. Or at least an impoverished household.
