It just frustrates me because I volunteered to hop into a middle of a game, just to move things along. Find out my character is amazingly boring to play, because he has no friends. Find out there was a rule no one told me about, one that is easy to forget, and I am forgetful, now I feel like trash tier.

It's fine. The first problem will end soon enough (well... by June at the latest ) and you'll get used to the whole OOC thing with time. Don't get frustrated.

Enemies fade out when you rest at a bonfire. It'd be helpful to us, as well, as it lets future replacements join in quicker.

Well, no one has friends mechanically at this point, but that shouldn't stop RP. A big chunk of RP happens between maps, though, which obviously isn't where you've plopped into, with a character that was booted for inactivity - so I wouldn't kick yourself on lacking stuff to do with him. I guess it depends - are you interested enough in the game to keep using Typhos, or do you want to wait until your character comes in on her own right? It shouldn't be too long for this map, anymore. The end is relatively nigh.

As for the OOC stuff...
I would personally say the notion of keeping IC in IC and OOC in OOC should be pretty standard.
It is in the OP of the IC thread not to have OOC there. First line, in fact.
It's not quite if you have '8 OOC in the IC, you're locked to the Bad End' - it can make things harder later, but hopefully in a way that's kind of interesting.

Ultimately, I want everyone to enjoy playing DSE, so I'm not going to dick everyone over.

Honestly I wouldn't mind talking to Typhos so long as he initiates the conversation. Problem being that I've established Sacha as afraid of him to the point of near paranoia.

Heck, if it helps here are my notes on Sacha's thoughts of Typhos:

[[Sirius]] Typhos Umbra, the Captain of Tristram: Obviously a liar as well as a guard captain. Tristram was destroyed decades ago and little remains of it other than rubble. Strike one. Guard Captains are well known for burning heretics at the stake as many have tried to do to her and her congregation before. Strike two. A bad liar such as Typhos will put people on guard against others who attempt to 'bend the truth' thus making it harder for Sacha to come out on top. Strike three. Honestly, if he weren't so obviously skilled at swordplay Sacha would have no use for the man. His degrading mental state has put her on guard. She is currently quite afraid of him but has taken some solace from Damon’s promise to protect her.

It just really sucks you got stuck taking over for someone who never talked.

To help a little bit with the whole 'character interaction' bit I'm just gonna... post how Sacha acted towards each person on the trip her and about a few specific topics. Helps save time AND is convenient I think.

   Willing to smooth talk to get people to give her what she wants which tends to be anything and everything that takes her fancy. While not outright hostile towards most people she prefers women though she's never really made a deep connection past the physical before.

   When things are going well she's perfectly happy to take credit and talk herself up. When things go wrong she's prone to anger and bitterness.

Alain Nyx, the Book-Keeper: While the young woman claims to be a librarian or researcher of sorts Sacha has her doubts. Something about the skill set Alain claims to possess puts the young con-artist off. While Alain certainly seems organized and knowledgeable enough to be a librarian Sacha has never met a scholar capable of wielding a knife quite like Alain does.

Ariston Pythias, The Stone Wall of Mir: Sacha finds that she has mixed feelings about the General. Though having such an obviously powerful man under her sway would be helpful she is hesitant to make any moves towards swaying him to the congregation. Firstly he is a general and they are well known for being mentally acute and, thus, difficult to sway. Secondly he is friends with the military captain and, thus, has a secondary line of defense and will likely be reluctant to devote himself to her. For now she's decided against making any overt moves in case the "piercing lance" is watching. That said she's also decided to act as friendly as possible to the general as he would make a powerful ally and likely keep any prying captains off her back.

Damon Sourdeval, The Piercing Lance of Mir: After learning that he was a military captain Sacha instantly became distrustful of the man. While he seems willing to play nice for now Sacha is far too familiar with being hunted by such men who wished to put down 'dangerous thought'. In addition to the fact that military men tend to be far too mentally strong to be converted easily she doubts that he'll be much use to her congregation.

Rosilia Thorton, the Archer Trainee: Though the two never had a proper introduction before the first combat Sacha does find the young woman incredibly attractive and can tell that she's the sort who hates being alone. All and all a perfect recruit for her congregation.

Sister Sacha, the Prophetess of Ynidus: She's assured that she deserves the very best in life. Having spent her time as a human attempting to manipulate those who were easily swayed she has become somewhat accustomed to the idea that she needs to sway as many people to her way of thinking as possible. If Sacha were to think about it, however, she would find that she hasn't actually trusted anyone in years.

Yilda the Former Noble: If Sacha were to believe the gods were benevolent she would use the phrase "A godsend" to describe Yilda. Having spent years conning people she has learned to pick up on certain small movements and behaviors among people. A young, frightened, and disowned noblewoman? An obvious convert to Sacha's cause. Yet she gets the feeling that this particular woman won't be as easy as the others.

Food: She has expressed a fondness for roast boar though she has obviously not had access to it in some time.

Gods: She loathes the gods without exception as she blames the curse on them. Though she has no true proof of this position she will happily present it as fact.

Home: She refuses to talk about what she left behind as of yet.

Prophetess of Ynidus: Though she hates the gods she assumes that people in Trushkang are the same as people everywhere: Willing to trust a woman of the cloth. As such she still introduces herself as a Prophetess. Perhaps it is in the vain hope that she can rebuild her congregation with those assembled.

Trushkang: Based on the stories she expects it to be a run down ruin. So far she isn't disappointed.

These are just my thoughts as to her interactions as of now. I'm more than wiling to change them around if you guys want to share some input on them.

Some changes have been made to each character since then. Sans Ariston I believe. The one that changed most was Yilda. Went from being somewhat warm [potential recruit] to rather cold [Sacha doesn't take to insults well]. Heck, I'll post 'em here sans any RP plans I may have.

As she continues to interact with Damon her thoughts about his imprisonment grow more condemning of his jailors. She dislikes his authoritive tone but has grown to enjoy needling him and even enjoys the barbs she receives in return. His promise to protect her from the hollowing Typhos has cemented his place as a worthy ally to her though she’d never say it aloud.

She, herself, often bristles at authority and has a distinct dislike of soldiers. Oddly enough, she seems to have picked up three.

Sacha thinks two things of Typhos. 1) He is a liar as Tristram was destroyed years ago. Though Damon and Ariston claim to be from a time older than that so she isn’t quite sure. 2) He is not to be trusted. Primarily because of his past as a soldier. Men of his type are known to abuse their powers and she has seen what these sorts of men do to downtrodden women. His recent onset of hollowing has made her fearful of the man as she has heard stories that Priestesses have more humanity than most and, thus, Typhos is most likely to target her if he cracks. Damon’s promise to protect her has assuaged the fear and prevented it from becoming full paranoia but not by much.

Sacha originally believed the young noble to be a godsend. Young, frightened, and disowned? A perfect convert to Sacha’s congregation. However, while doing her first selfless act in a long time [attempting to distract a hollow from attacking Damon] Yilda insulted her causing Sacha to cool to her considerably. In addition having her nag at Sacha and Damon for exchanging banter has caused Sacha to ponder if perhaps she doesn’t want to convert the young woman after all.
