Btw, is anyone better equipped to attack these Knight than me? I wanna follow Sercons lead in, but Iris is only good at tanking magic attacks.

I was gonna say I actually do 5 points of damage to each with my Iron Lance because I beat the threshold, but WTD, so that becomes 0. You can still ping them for 5 with your Iron Axe though, SC.

Basically ignore everything else for right now except STR, MAG, DEF, and RES.

STR: Increases physical damage. Added to Sword, Lance, Axe, Bow, and Hidden weapons' MT.
MAG: Increases magical damage. Added to Tomes' MT and Staff power. and also some physical weapons but we can just stick with the former for now

Adding your MT to your relevant attack stat equals your AT(K), or total attack power.

DEF: Protects from physical damage. Subtracts from physical AT.
RES: Protects from magical damage. Subtracts from magical AT.


The Thunder Knights are both using [thrown] axes, a physical weapon. They have 11 STR, while their axes have 10 MT.

Ergo each Thunder Knight has an AT of (11+10) = 21. They deal (21-2) = 19 damage to you, easily downing you in two hits. Not good!


Conversely, you are using a tome, a magic weapon. You have 10 MAG and your tome has 8 MT. You also have a personal skill that takes effect while using your current (and only) tome, adding an extra 2 points to your AT, meaning you have (10+8+2) = 20 AT.


The Thunder Knights have 5 RES each, meaning you deal (20-5) = 15 damage per hit to them. This means you fare much better than any other party member in terms of dealing damage. Good!


TL;DR: You deal more damage than anyone else because you attack with a tome and the Knights have higher DEF than RES.

Right, but attacking seems suicidal to me, personally. The only way I do any damage is to take lethal retaliatory damage in turn.

I do 15 damage to them, and they go down to 13/25, and they hit me down to 2/22. OK

But due to the narrow corridor, I don't think anyone can knock them out the rest of the way before they, presumably, strike me back on the next turn and finish me off. Do I just spend the next turns playing Tubthumping?

The thing is that it's the only real option for us to get through. That, and you can be healed to a survivable HP (which may mean you should get ready to attack next turn rather than do it now since the healers both went?)

If they try to hit me, I can take at least one attack I suppose, and I'll likely hit back for alot-my crit trait activates if they put me to low HP.

In other other news, I realized the T-Knights have this.

Character Specific Skill: Ignis: (Skl+luc chance of adding half mag to damage).

So their score combined is 14, and it adds from 4-5 damage, depending on round up or down. How does this ability work? It seems that they roll an extra d100 and if they get lower then 14 it procs and one shots me no how matter much HP I have? Because why not.
