So, anyone have any conniving to consider? Waiting for the cavalry definitely seems like the reasonable choice, but that's leaving our profits entirely determinate on goodwill. Maybe we could squeeze Koya if we kept him out of the arms of the law, but that seems iffy success and profit wise.

We probably should have left someone at the mansion to collect loot. If only we had a harpoon gun or something so we could latch onto them without having to shoot them down. This may just be my lawful good speaking, but I think kidnapping royalty is beyond our pay grade right now. We have a pistol and a sniper rifle and thats it beyond the small ship turrets. I think we should be heros here, not villians. Especially when a galactic royal family is involved.

Yeah, we could always try to steal the cargo and still be paid for it, but that seems rather difficult without Morris preparation as well.

Rescue the guy, then deliver his crap. that's my vote in a nutshell.

I figure at some point, you're just gonna run outta fucks to give and just off yourself whenever you get hurt at all. It's not like there's any downsides to it. Hangover? Suicide will fix that. Stubbed your toe? Suicide. Headache? Suicide. Papercut? Suicide.

My vote is rescued the guy, get paid for his crap, and get a reward/knighthood for saving a member of the royal family.

Works for me.  Let's try and make the delivery somehow, though.

Gameplay progress check-in query.

Thoughts so far on;
  • Gameplay Mechanics?
  • Storyline?
  • Character progression?
  • Fairness/Balance?
  • Clarity on how things work?
  • etc?

I'm thinking experience should be skill specific. Doesn't make sense to do a bunch of mechanic work and suddenly know how to punch people better.

That's usually the skill system I use, however on this occasion, I've chosen this system for simplicity.

I think simplicity works better, or else learning a skill from scratch would be awfully laborious.

But learning a skill from scratch Is laborious.

And gaming is not - especially forum gaming.  :P

Imagine trying to pump your engineering skill?
Turn 1 - Practice crafting.
Turn 2 - Practice crafting.
Turn 3 - Practice crafting.
Turn 4 - *Ship is on fire* DUDE, HELP US. Practice crafting instead.
Turn 5 - Huzzah, enough experience to get a +1 to my crafting.
Turn 5 - Practice crafting.

With this system, you can still work toward that engineering +1 modifier via skill, but you can partake in the world around you instead of grinding.

You could just. You know. Not allow grinding. Diminishing returns for doing the same darned thing over and over and over.

But then it'd take three weeks of real-time to get a level up in anything! D:
