The Day the Stars Ate the Sky [0/4]
« on: December 15, 2015, 11:54:08 am »

Please remain in your homes, if you are not at home, find shelter immediately. Close all blinds and shades, block out all windows.
Do not look outside.
Do not look at the sky.
Do not make noise.
Your cooperation is vital to your survival. Appointed government personnel will update you shortly.

The first broadcast was the last. This was a week ago. At first, it seemed like an ominous, but not entirely unusual emergency broadcast. "Probably a test.", people said. Then the sky blackened, and stars descended to the ground. Everyone the anomalies engulfed emerged dead and drained of color. Panic ensued. Fortunately, you managed to survive.

You and a group of three other people - an unlikely team, managed to find each other in the biggest mall in town: Cuismet Malls Mega Shopping Center. You have decided to survive together in order to make sense of the situation.

Most games plague me with very complex and incomprehensible systems that don't seem to work that well when played. Ask me any questions should you need to have anything explained more clearly.

is despairing basically a defeat by sanity loss, if you only get a pep talk once in the whole game?
Also, what if I wanted to make a blind acrobat -- doesn't have to deal with the whole eye contact issue, but suffers the myriad other problems brought on by being, you know, blind.

despairing is basically a defeat by sanity loss yes. You'll have to balance trying to survive not spending your initiative against those that might want to kill you. Anomalies are not your only foes.

If you were blind, let's just say the anomalies have ways to defeat you without resorting to line of sight. But it won't be an instant death. I'll also have to enforce penalties depending on which handicaps/advantage you put on your character in the background sheet.

And yes, I am going to allow ability alterations on people on their backgrounds (aka removing an arm, limp, blind, deaf, etc.)

And there won't be any PSI-related powers.
