You sign onto your email account, hoping to contact your parents and your friend. You are able to send out the emails but there's no guarantee that they will be receiving them.


You decide to check out the window to see if you are anywhere near an attack, pushing the shudders over to look you see other small one or two story office buildings and a small parking lot with company cars of various companies parked.

Checking the horizon you see a plume of smoke rising several miles away towards where the shopping center is.

What do you do now?

Google where the nearest military base is. Then make our way outside to start on our journey.

Find a writing implement and write a message telling our Dad that we are heading to the military base.

Getting onto a search engine you search for the nearest military base to your current address.

What is the closest military base to bldg 455 Auto Street -Search

The results show an Army base 45 miles north east, an Air force base 39 miles south, and a Navy base 86 miles west.

Now that I see this, I say it may be a good investment to go to either the Army base or the Navy base. The airforce base would have been destroyed prior to an invasion, so the enemy air support could go uncontested.

You take a pen and sticky note from your dadīs desk and write a note

Next you grab the emergency supply kit. Taking a step out the door you see not a single person nearby, you know the general direction that you need to go, and you see several cars (including the company van) parked in the parking lot.

We need to prepare for the journey ahead. Let's go to the nearest supermarket and grab a roller suitcase and start filling it with clothes, food, and (possibly; if we can find some) medicine.

Go to the parking lot, if we or our dad arrived to the office by motor vehicle. Check to see if our car is there.

The nearest supermarket is in the direction of the smoke rising in the distance, roughly 8 miles away.

You can hear an emergency siren coming from, presumably, down the road.
