That's a type of cluster missile. Just loaded with gyros. With that settup it adds to the flight time and allows gyros to be deployed at range.

As for the immolator, could scrap the missiles and go for lasers. Cut down on armor, add point defense, cut down on generator used, cut the hyperspace equipment.

Aah, alright, thats a bit of a different ballpark game then, but I guess it can be possible, I still need a bit of a conclusion of what you guys want.

Well. Technically gyros could be either the mass launch or a clusterlaunch. Lets assume it's in the mass launch setup for now.

Clusterlaunch can just be a mod later.

Alright, should I start writing it up or someone wants to do something else?

Don't think we've fully decided on the Immolator mods but I think at the minimum we're scrapping the missiles in favor of lasers, scrapping the hyperdrive calculator, scrapping the annihilation core, and changing the power generator to something weaker.

I actually was thinking of just using a rail-cannon, one that is oversized for the general ship size. Rather than a bunch of lasers, one massive explosive slug should make nice big holes in all but the heaviest armored ships

Spoiler: Immolator Ver.2 (click to show/hide)

This design is a hit-and-run harrasser who zips in, weakens some armor with the phase lances, then unloads with the railcannon at the weakened spot. Then disengages and warps out, and repeats.

No. I suppose there are similarities, but I'm fairly certain angry birds doesn't let me charge into a battalion of knights with a car made of circular saws.

That's good as a harassment/frigate killer but not for the anticap role we currently need. Table that design for now but I think we'll be bringing it in when we get a frigate killer requirement.

The reason we're going for lasers and phase lance spinal is cause the ship we are building this specifically to counter has no ablative armor, making it weak to lasers.

Ok, try this on for size:

Spoiler: Immolator ver.3 (click to show/hide)

It's slower than my previous design, but has some powerful forward weaponry, and everything is off the shelf, as it were

Medium Spinal Mount Hull
Offensive:
 -Spinal Mount Phase Lance
 -Phase Lance
 -Phase Lance
Defensive:
 -Dura-Steel Plate
 -Ablative Plating
Power:
 -Hyperfusion
Engine:
 -Fusion Torch
 -Hyperdrive

What about this? We are going after a capital ship but the capship is a hit and run styled ship. So we want to go fast. Maybe we should paint it red..
