Elbow to the upper back, followed by claiming the blade for himself and doing some knowledge checking after a one liner.

"That's aboot enough for me, I think."

Do local cops care about brawls involving blades in a spacer bar? Do they care enough to try to track him down if he leaves? How fast and professional are they, usually? Will he face serious annoyances if he sticks around and talks to them?

Dante will also take time to check on the wellness of his opponent, is he definitely out of the fight? Still breathing? If he presents serious resistance, Dante will stab repeatedly and regret it lately, if he's conscious he'll start questioning, and in any case, he'll do a quick search of the assailants possessions, acquiring anything that isn't purely sentimental or worthless.

"So buddy, why don't you tell me about these people that your brother fell in with? Good odds we could make it right."

Assuming he has any spare moments for thinking, Dante will look back. Are there any young men that he's killed lately who could be the source of this grudge? Forgetting things like that isn't that surprising of an outcome for him, but it's worth a shot in the dark.

((Eee... that's a lot of Ifs and Buts for me to process. The settlement isn't lawless and you should expect some pretty typical police action, though with the witness count and self-defence claim, they'll probably let you right go if there isn't any brutality beyond the self-defence. Want to repost around that knowledge?))

Saxson does a quick circuit of the ship, and in doing so runs into Rob.  "Hi Rob, is the ship in working shape?  If not, what are the major repairs that need to be done?  I'm hoping we can take off pretty soon."

(Heads up I'm changing from purple to orange because I cant read the purple on darkling.) Ship diagnostics look good. Shes up and running with no apparent issues. We should be good to fly. I'm headed up to the cockpit to check things out on that end, and if there are no issues there, I can take us off whenever we're all ready. Head up to the cockpit and familiarize myself with the layout and systems of the room, as well as and especially, the pilot controls.

((Yeah, I suppose that I should. Real cops frown on looting for some strange reason.))

Dante drops the elbow on the guy, claims the knife, then checks to see if he's still coherent enough to talk. If he makes another attempt to attack, Dante will apply another elbow.

"Excellent, I'll send out a message to gather the crew."

Saxson sends out another text message:
Quote from: Saxson to rest of crew
The ship is in working order, and we're ready to take off.  Please return to the ship as soon as you are able.  Also, if anyone has any ideas for the ship's name, we should probably get that out of the way.  The ship's previous name was "Mise de Feu" or "Bringer of Fire."

You have defeated the unknown assailant.

The ship's previous name was "Mise de Feu" or "Blastoff."

((I mis-translated Bringer of Fire, as Porteur de feu doesn't seem as majestic.))

((Ah I see, I think I'm just terrible at languages and misunderstood.  Thank god for editing.))

While waiting for everyone to arrive, Saxson performs some quick Web searches to research Sanctuary and Yaris Lo.  Also, put in a request for 18 credits to be transfered to Rob.

(Nah I was just making sure that everything is there and that I don't need to replace terminals or something. If my character knows what's what, then I don't need a description).

All ready to go, Saxon. There's just one issue. I bought some necessary ship parts with my own funds and need reimbursement. I kept the receipt. It should only be 18 credits, but still that's my food money.

"Not a problem, let's reimburse you from the crew fund.  We're gonna need the whole crew's approval for it, but I'm sure they'll be fine with it."

"Really man? You could at least give me some hint for whatever it was that I may or may not have done."

Dante rights his stool and sits down before slouching on the bar to wait for the cops. He checks over his knife wound, putting pressure on it and muttering darkly about how unamusimg unarmored jackets are. "Hey, barkeep, could I get those two drinks now? Put everything on jackass here's tab. Thanks much."

Now that the issue of reimbursement was taken care of, Rob returned to engineering and accessed the web via his newly installed terminal. He began researching the political issues of Sanctuary and Yaris Lo. He also reviewed what the most recent major headlines/news has been for the those.

18 Credits transferred.

Liberty is the capital solar system of this area of space, the faction known as the Grand Republic, hosting five planets. From closest to the sun; Three gas giants (Lania, Ostia, Rostrum), the capital planet of Sanctuary, a totally urbanised planet, and an ice world with long days, long nights and long years, known as Outcast.
Sanctuary is a planet of many districts and constituencies, ruled officially by democracy, though more likely as an aristocracy where those with power swing the majority of votes.

Once brought to the edge of pollution-caused toxification many decades ago, it is now a cleaner planet transferring through a modernisation of renewable energy – and as such, still has pockets of dirty, dark and outdated architecture and energy sources.
The Grand Republic’s intergalactic war with the neighbouring Kotaku Empire ended recently with mutually no gains, though many losses. It had stretched over several generations and left both factions destitute and in debt, naturally to a mutually bordering, neutral, faction known as the Scarlet Moon Core.

As for the space station Yaris Lo, it is a SilverCorp depot located rather in the middle of nowhere – doubling it as a common refuelling station. It orbits a binary star system of a Red Giant and a Blue Supergiant, known locally simply as Red and Blue, though known by identification as 892-TY42. This system has no orbiting bodies beside the station.

"I'd rather you not be here when he wakes up, you've caused enough of a mess as it is." says the barkeep, as the quiet rumble of the background noise returns. "Leave me your details and I'll pass them to the police. Either way, I want you out."
And perhaps as an afterthought, he says, "You should probably see a doctor, too. That looks pretty nasty.

"Fair enough."

Dante drains whatever drink is the nearest, then rifles through unknown assailant's pockets for an ID or anything else valuable. "Do tell the cops that I'm Dante Chaucer and that I'll be conducting my own investigation into this. They should know who I am"

"And with that, fair spacers, the day's entertainment ends. Remember to tip the cocktail waitress"

Exuent Dante

Then he'll head back to the ship to see about getting some medical attention, avoiding anything along the way unless it's especially interesting.
