One-Way hallway?
« on: December 13, 2015, 07:57:33 am »

Is there a way to make a one-way hallway?

I tried to trick the dwarfs with some traffic design but my plan didn't work out.

Any suggestions?

Reading his name would trigger it. Thinking of him would trigger it. No other circumstances would trigger it- it was strictly related to the concept of Bill Clinton entering the conscious mind.

A wizard has turned you into a wagon. This was inevitable (Y/y)?

Having many "R" tiles is a bad idea, because this increases path cost a lot. It's better to combine "H" and "R" on fork corners, like shown in wiki (http://dwarffortresswiki.org/index.php/DF2014:Path)
It worked for me, but inherently unreliable.

And yes, if you need strict separation, a pressure plate closing passage is an option. But even this will cause cancellations when someone approaches the door from the other end and possibly endless loop if two alternative "open" passages are too close, but not linked.
Perhaps it's better to use these to enforce separate corridors, not replace.
