"Okay, fox lady, I'm coming too." Alvin sticks near the back of the group, as far away from Laykos as possible.  As they walked, he looked around for monsters or treasure.
No monsters nor treasures; the path through the caves seemed barren.

Eventually, they reached what appeared to be a wooden door carved into a rock face in a larger section of the cavern, in a dead end; hanging in front of it is a lantern.
"Welcome to your new home!" she said in joy as she opened the door.

~Home~

The interior was a warm sight; a hardwood floor covered the square living room, setting a homely contrast from the moldy and cold cavern. The room itself was warm, and had couches and lamps and rugs and even a television on top of a lovely cherrywood stand. Two doorways lead into a hallway with a stairwell leading to a locked basement door and a few other rooms, and the other leads into the kitchen which smells of the scent of pie permeating the air. The whole place had a warm feel to it, it would have felt like their ordinary homes; warm and cozy.

"Please, come inside and warm up.. I just cooked some moldberry pie, so please help yourselves!"

Lazarus nods and after a bit of looking around goes to see if the lady has any books.

In the bookshelf in the living room, there is a vast assortment of monster books.
"I see you're interested in my collection, hmm~? I have many historical and factual books, but they might be too hard for you at such a young age..."

* Lazarus gives a thumbs up and a smile as if to say that he's used to it and can probably handle it.

Alvin looked around distrustfully, his encounter with the deceitful Flowey fresh on his mind.  "Thanks...  But, um, what do you mean by 'new home?'"

"That's what I mean.. my child, it's impossible for you to go back. The barrier prevents it. Here is the safest place, you can grow, you can learn..."
"We can be like one happy family!"

The Barrier? What's that..?

He looked forward to adventures down here, but to never come back home?  No, it was unthinkable!  "B-but I need to go back home, my mom and dad could get worried.  That doesn't even make any sense!  What is the 'barrier?'"

Lazarus tilts his head as he puts two and two together. He gets up and looks for a door.

"My child, I'm sorry... but you cannot go back.

Long ago, two races ruled over Earth: HUMANS and MONSTERS. One day, war broke out between the two races, and after the long battle, humans were victorious. They sealed the monsters underground with a magic spell known as the BARRIER. Mt. Damon, is where this spell was created, and is the among the few entrances to the Underground, with others such as Mt. Ebott existent as well. Legends say that those who climb the mountain never return, sparking the minds of explorers, the curious, or even the suicidal to climb it... as well as children like you.

I am sorry, but there is no return."

Lazarus tilts his head as he puts two and two together. He gets up and looks for a door.
There are two doors; to the kitchen, and to the hallway.

In the hallway is a stairwell leading to a locked door, likely the basement. Further down along the walls are other doors, three of them, likely bedrooms.

"I-I don't believe you!  Someone must have made it out!  I'm gonna find a way out, I promise!" Alvin exits the house and looks around at what is nearby.

Laykos sighed as Alvin left; as he walked out, he would find perpetual darkness away from the lantern. All he discovered was moist cavern, and mold on the walls.
