Lazarus jumps up and hugs the sad woman.

Alvin felt genuine sympathy for the fox lady, despite her deception.  Her behavior was starting to make a lot more sense.  "I'm so sorry, Laykos.  I had no idea...  B-but I think Jacky was right in what she did."

"Even if it m-means they could come to harm, nobody wants to be trapped.  You're very nice, but please, let us decide for ourselves whether we want to leave and brave danger in search of a way back, or stay here.  It's our decision to make, and if you really care for any of us, you'll let us make that decision."

"So you three want to leave then."

After a moment Lazarus nods.

[SOLDIER First]

((You're about to have a mildly discomforting time.))

"I do."

She ate in silence, and then allowed them time to finish their own foods, leaving only restless suspense until Laykos finally spoke as she stood.
"Follow me."

Lazarus quickly finishes his food before getting up to follow.

Alvin follows Laykos, too nervous to finish his food.

She takes them down the stairs, taking a key from out her poncho pocket and unlocking the door. Not a word is uttered as she opened the door and ventured deeper, revealing a long stone corridor dimly lit.
She stopped at the end where a small room was, the end of which being a large stone door.

...The feeling that you are about to be free fills you with DETERMINATION.

"You three want to leave so badly... just like the rest. Fine. Prove yourself.. prove to me that you won't die!"

"W-What are you doing? Fight or run away!"

"I... are you saying you want to f-fight us?"

"How else can you handle it out there? If you can't fight... you will die. It's kill or be killed."
