Bay12 forumites present:
Slaves of Armok II: God of Blood
-Chapter II: Dwarf Fortress:-
"The Strip"- Dwarven Gambling Paradise

Background

One day, the Dwarven king realized that Dwarven crime rates had reached alarming levels throughout the land. The king determined that dwarves throughout the land needed a way to rid themselves of bad thoughts. The monarch picked seven talented bartenders on an expedition to found a new fortess, far from Dwarven civilization. The fortress was to become a mecca of gambling, consisting of many great taverns, all of great acclaim. This is the story of "The Strip".

OOC:
While playing with the new dwarf fortress, I came up with an idea loosely based on Las Vegas and Fallout New Vegas. Instead of one really popular tavern, we would have many taverns, each with many visitors, like the Las Vegas Strip.

This sounds super fun! Count me in!

Does the tileset restriction apply to custom ASCII as well or just graphics which modify raws?

You had me until 'no tilesets' :(  I know I'm spoiled, but I can't focus without my graphics.  Will be watching to see how this Fort develops though.

Just the ones that modify the  raws. I've never really done a succession fortress before, or used tilesets, but I've heard of tilesets causing buggies in succession forts. I'll lift the restriction if people don't want to play without tilesets

I can't commit to turnlist without LNP, specially DT, so I'll just PTW.

Are you taking forumite dorf names though? :)  Sanctume or Sanctumea, macedwarf would be nice, but any will be fine.

Ergh count me in, too lazy too install lnp and dt so yer parameters suit me.

CPU is not top class either, usually not a noticeable problem in younger forts.

I would suggest a sand desert as embark, next to a lake or river.

Oooh, put me down for a turn! Hopefully I will have figured out taverns properly by the time the save ends up in my hands. :D

ptw
Are there any restrictions on what players do besides having to build a tavern and not mess with others?

Interesting... I can't play this game without Dwarf Therapist, though, so I'll be watching, not joining in. :-\
