:snipsnipsnipsnispnip:

Did Greatjon get any kills?

:snipsnipsnipsnip:

Sadly, it was all over before the majority of the militia got there. Noone who was not mentioned in the report was present. It was a very small siege, more of a minor raid.

EDIT:
Also, I almost did not see what you were asking. It's probably best not to quote the whole thing if you just have a lil question like that :):):)

Uh, woah.  Okay there.  Didn't see any of that coming.  You know what, at this point we might as well also train Onyx to swim, especially if there are any lakes near any of the FBs (drowning is not a satisfactory demise for our designated driver meat shield).  Soon enough she will become a carp.  An unstoppable, murderous, highly distracting carp.

PRAISE ONYX, SON DAUGHTER OF HODE AND NOCAM, LORD LADY OF WATERY NIGHTMARES.
{s}HE CAN NEVER DROWN HIMERSELF, ONLY OTHERS.

...but seriously, yeah, better make sure that {s}he can survive dodging into a lake.

Note: I didn't realize that having an s in [these] would do this

Apparently, she learned to swim on the fly. She is now novice in swimming, while previously she had 0 experience. In dwarf fortress, that is like learning to play the piano as you preform a recital. Also, if the audience doesn't like you, you die.

Alright, here's what we do: fill Onyx's training quarters with 4/7-6/7 water all the time.  So she can swim while she dodges and become an unstoppable distraction carp.

If she ever hits legendary, I request that her title is changed to "Unstoppable Carp" (Unstopable Distracting Carp if it can fit that many letters).

Can we teach Learnmouths to dodge the ground when she falls? Because then we can have a flying distraction that no-one can reach.

Edit More importantly/realistically: also, have we chosen a name for not-Gringots?

Hey guys, just want to assure everyone that this is not dead, I am super involved, and just haven't been able to play for a while.

More updates as soon as I can!

Well, that's good, I guess. Still would prefer more updates, but hey, I'm not the guy running the fortress, and beggars can't be choosers and all that.

Still: how are we deciding the name of the vault?

I'll probably generate a bunch of names to choose from. Honestly I'll be surprised if I get to that like, before summer IRL. We have a fort and a permanent royal palace to build, too.

To pass the time, next update can include a bunch of names to pick from. :)

They will all be randomly generated, much like the tavern.

Also, it has become commonplace for children to play make believe in the death pyramid more than any other location in town. Coincidence?

MOST IMPORTANTLY: It looks like we are getting a Baron. Who shall be elevated?

Baron the family with the most kids, so plenty of heir to murder.

This seems fair! I'll do this, and we will find out who wins the Baron Roulette next update.

Eh, sure. Always a good thing to have some spare [unfortunate] accident-prone people to soak up danger from others. Onyx has been performing that duty nicely, but maybe some... more civilian-minded ones would be good.

Two other things: A. has Erin written any more books, and B. are there any professions that you would believe to be more mad science-y than being a scholar, and if so, please make Erin one.
