Is Genetics Still Messed Up?
« on: December 01, 2015, 10:30:04 pm »

Hey I  just wanted to know after the newest update if the genetics are still all wonky ware everyone has the same hair and skin tone in a single cibilization or if its more varied now with black hair and blonde haired people living in the same civ.

I think the last time you brought this up it was already mentioned that it is actually realistic for most people in one place in a time where most people don't really leave the place they were born in to have very similar traits. However I have noticed it seems to be a bit more varied. During character creation I got a human civilization where the only skin color was brown, but there were at least three hair and eye colors, so there might be more variation than before now. It might have just been luck.

Its a feature. Impregnating booze is a planned tech tree for dwarves and this is a sneak peek at it.
Unless you're past reproductive age. Then you're pretty much an extension of your kids' genitalia

I seem to recall Toady posted a devlog about making hair/skin colours more varied as generations pass. I may be mistaken though.

Hard science is like a sword, and soft science is like fear. You can use both to equally powerful results, but even if your opponent disbelieve your stabs, they will still die.

I've only had one fort so far, but everyone had copper skin. Don't know about their other features.

Realistic or not, this still drives me bonkers.

Nah, I've seen variety. I've seen one civ with at least two eye colors, and that was me just pressing the random button once (not full random).
