Whelp I got my first few citizens to my temples! Of the three dwarves in the bottom temple, one of them actually doesn't worship that god but stopped by to pray anyway. The god he does worship has a temple right next door, too. Couldn't be bother to walk a few more steps. Dwarves, forever lazy. XD

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Also unsure what the difference between the two different worships. Might tell you whether they're worshipping a favored god?

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

That or perhaps the "Worship!" ones are just being enthusiastic...

That said, I'm starting to worry that this may kill DF for me. Dwarves are already idiots when it comes to doing jobs in a timely manner legendary at being lazy, I'm not sure giving them more non-productive things to do in addition to even more ways to whine about things was a good idea. Perhaps it won't be as bad as I expect however...

Might be actual worship vs "I have nothing to do let's go pray at the temple"? Ditto though.

Having to restart annoyingly enough, but that's okay. I shall continue to investigate new things!

Yeah, none of my dwarves are having their worship needs met at all, despite them running off to worship multiple times. This is perplexing. Maybe it's not a big enough area??? Do I have to assign someone to the temple?

Something else that made me lol, my dwarves are getting annoyed about the lack of mugs. Go dunk your breads in the barrels, I have temples to figure out guys.

I downloaded the linux version but it freezes (or gets stuck somehow) during world creation. I tried making as small a world as possible, but regardless it always gets "stuck" when placing civilizations. Dunno.

can confirm this happening as well :/

Yeah, I give up trying to get these dummies satisfied. If anyone can get them to actually worship, instead of pretending to, please let me know what you did. OTL

There's also "milk of lime" available in the food stockpile menus where there's usually only lye.

EDIT: My hunter's thoughts.

"I have improved my archery. That was very satisfying!"
"I have improved my crossbow. That was very satisfying!"
"I have improved my ambushing. That was not satisfying."

So improving skills only spurs on happy thoughts sometimes? I wonder what causes that...

We have a rich tradition of percussion instruments as well, all of which are based around a musician smacking variously sized hollow rocks.
It was quite brutal actually. Who knew you could suffer major head trauma from undergarments?

That dwarf might not like fighting. So improving a martial skill wouldn't be very satisfying. :3

Yeah, he's got the "He prefers everyone lives as harmoniously as possible" trait.

Also my woodcutter is bored from not doing anything lmao. You're getting drafted into the engraving squad.

EDIT: Experimentation with furniture in temples so far seems to show that chairs and tables are not used. Might start up the metal industry soon and try cranking out some god statues.

Got them to worship with a green. "Worship" and "Worship!" occurring between dwarves. Maybe "Worship!" is the worship of false gods? Regardless, here's my temple and unit screen. There must be a thousand factors as to why it may or may not work, but I just set this temple up and it works fine.

I'm going to verify that "Worship" green actually fixes their mood, as "Worship!" clearly doesn't.
I'm also going to see if personalities or values could be a factor.

Yeah, definitely let us know how it goes. Green worship was doing nothing for me, but then neither was the purple worship! seemingly doing anything either.

Something to note, I pressed "j" over the "Worship!"

It told me that the activity could branch into specific worship events.
The tavern owner serving drinks is also "Purple!"

I'm convinced purple is a sort of "Parent-Class" activity to "Child" activities.
