I noticed my langurs (only the boys mind) are sitting there with a flashing arrow like they're hungry or something...
Or something, alright.

I like big butts and I cannot lie~♪
You other langurs can't deny~♪
That when a monkey walks in with an itty bitty waist~♪
And a round thing in your face~♪
Your tail gets sprung~♪

Reading his name would trigger it. Thinking of him would trigger it. No other circumstances would trigger it- it was strictly related to the concept of Bill Clinton entering the conscious mind.

Is anyone else finding that sometimes your not-tame animals are "Distracted"? I noticed my langurs (only the boys mind) are sitting there with a flashing arrow like they're hungry or something, but when I go to the wounds menu it says "Distracted". Do animals have the same needs thing like dwarves do? I haven't had anyone been so needing of things that they end up distracted yet but I imagine that's some kind of warning thing they have now (sort of like the red "Stressed" only not as bad maybe?)

I have also seen this, but on a hunting dog with multiple broken bones after getting kicked by a buffalo.

And so it begins with Plungedtour. A group of craftsdwarves lead by one jack-of-all trades leader with several conversational disciplines but no actual skills, a couple miners, a woodcutter/craftsdwarf and (thank you Toady) a Jester, who is skilled in music, poetry, flattery and a hammerer (because that's necessary for any competent jester).

We shall see how everything turns out! (It's been nearly a year since I've played, I'm fairly excited to report anything new I find).

It seems that menus (setting tasks in workshops, for example) now always seem to revert to the top of the list after you select something.
Very irritating. Was this an intentional change, or is it a bug? Makes doing anything take a lot longer. :-\

I'm pretty sure vanilla has always done this, and the menus remembering your last selection was DFHack.

No, I concur that this is new (and IMO unwelcome) behavior.  Hopefully it's an easily fixable bug.

Is this biome reanimating? I really don't want to know what happens when "absurd numbers of megabeasts" is combined with "reanimating biomes".

Not sure if anyone's said this already, but visitors count as members of your fort to prevent it's death.
I have a single bard locked up in a hospital as the undead ravage the halls of the fort, their numbers constantly reinforced by the new visitors who want to see my tavern.

I want to tell you they were bad men, cephalo.  I want to tell you that with a better overseer the Fortress never would've gotten so bad someone would get offed in a pointless fisticuffs.
But the sad truth charlie?
It was inevitable.

I like how my scholar is trying to study astronomy 10 stories bellow ground.
Where can I check the current knowledge of my civilization?
For the first time in years, I feel a bit overwhelmed by DF.

If anyone would like to see a siege in the new version, here's a 42.01 save with ~100 goblins in a siege.

The fort should be stable for many years, if you do nothing.  :D

One of my langurs is now Distracted! in red text on his wounds page. I assume there's something they want to do but can't...dunno what though. Langurs don't really do much aside from steal stuff?

Protip: statues cannot be made out of wood unless they're artifacts. If you see what appears to be a wooden statue outside your fort and it's not an artifact, destroy it immediately.
